Alex answered the call, his face lighting up with a rare smile. "Aunt Miranda, how are you?"

"Alex, I'm well. I just wanted to confirm my arrival. I'll be in Rochester by noon tomorrow." Miranda's voice came through the phone, steady and reassuring.

"That's great to hear, Aunt Miranda. Thank you so much for helping out. We need someone with your expertise right now," Alex replied, his relief palpable.

Alex turned to Andrew, his smile fading. "At least that's one thing going right," he said, his voice tinged with exhaustion.
