CHAPTER 170

Richard Dickson went back to the mortuary to get the corpse of Roseline for burial. His heart felt heavy seeing her beautiful face as she lay on the cold metal slab, lifeless but still exuding an eerie serenity. He gently caressed her cheek, whispering a silent farewell.

The sun was setting when Richard finally left the mortuary with Roseline’s body. He had chosen a quiet spot under an old oak tree, where the soft rustling of leaves could offer a semblance of peace. Alex had woken up very early, putting on his black suit, to meet Richard at the spot. He had some men monitor his activities and knew where Roseline would be buried. Part of him wished he could give Roseline the love she deserved, but the fact that his heart belongs to someone else was disheartened. He grabbed his car keys, and Paulina stopped him as he was about to walk out of the mansion. "Are you sure going is the right thing to do?" She looked at Alex's face.

"I need to be there, Paulina. Roseline died right in my arm
