Chapter 126

Lifting his head, Arthur took his glass of water and had a sip before turning to his grandma who had been stealing glances at him while eating her food.

Arthur cleared his throat and said to her, “I-I used to have a girlfriend but she ended the relationship when she overheard my conversation over the phone.”

Grandma Vanessa dropped her cutleries.

“What did say over the phone that she overheard and ended your relationship with her?”

Grandpa Carl also paused eating and listened with rapt attention.

“I lied to her about my identity and she found out when I was on a call. I had earlier excused myself and didn't know when she came to the place where I was answering the call.”

The old couple exchanged glances but didn't say anything.

Grandma Vanessa thought that her chances of having great grandchildren were now slim because of Arthur's revelation. She didn't know how it happened so she decided to ask Arthur.
