Arthur, who had wanted to take Nick to the Probity hotel, decided against it. The man was not a kid so he'd surely throw questions at him.

He'd want to find out how Arthur was able to afford the food and drinks in such an expensive hotel. He decided to take the man to a less expensive place where they ate and drank and also made jokes together.

Nick was in a high spirit and kept appreciating Arthur for giving him such a treat. It was indeed a privilege because the man had not had fun in a long time.

They had just finished eating and were busy with the drinks when Nick said to Arthur. “You just opened my eyes to something I've been missing, Arthur. I think I'll begin to make out some time and have fun. It's not all the time that I have to keep working.”
