Caspian sat back in his chair, a troubled expression on his face as he looked at Andreas who had been called to join him for some plans.

"I've been avoiding Duchess Dillion's marriage proposal for weeks now," he admitted. "But I have a feeling that it's holding up our plans for the Tomb of Gold."

Andreas raised an eyebrow. "You think she's using the marriage proposal as leverage?"

Caspian nodded. "I wouldn't put it past her. She's a shrewd woman, and she knows that I need her family's resources for the plan to work."

Andreas leaned forward, placing a reassuring hand on Caspian's shoulder. "You are the Baron of the DiMarco empire, Caspian. You need to do whatever it takes to secure those resources, even if it means going through with the marriage."

Caspian sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I know you're right, Andreas. I just hate the idea of being tied down to someone I don't truly care for."

Andreas nodded in understanding. "I know it's not ideal, but sometimes we have to mak

The sea breeze whipped through his hair as he followed Rodrigo to the far end of the deck where a group of men were gathered, all clad in the distinctive uniforms of the DiMarco empire. "Baron Caspian DiMarco, allow me to introduce you to my most trusted men," Rodrigo said, gesturing to the group. "These are the ones who will ensure the success of our operation." Caspian nodded in acknowledgment, eyeing each man carefully as he shook hands with them one by one. He could sense the loyalty and determination in their eyes, and knew that they would stop at nothing to see their mission through to the end. "Captain Duterte has told us all about your expertise, Baron," one of the men spoke up, his voice tinged with respect. "We are honored to have

“Raise your head," Adam said. The face I once laughed at had become one of terror and I hesitated for a moment, unsure of whether I wanted to meet his cold, calculating eyes. But I knew I had no choice. I slowly lifted my head, meeting his intense gaze with my own."How did you end up with such a jerk?" Adam asked, his tone softening slightly as he looked at me with a hint of sympathy.I averted my eyes, unable to meet his gaze any longer. A lot was running through my head at that moment. How could someone from the seemingly perfect Webby household end up in a situation like this? Drunk and pruned to danger? How could a man with all the money, fame, and power be so broken on the inside?"Hope I wasn't a problem," Adam’s voice interrupted my thoughts, pulling me back to reality."Apart from the one you caused with my husband," I retorted, unable to keep the bitterness out of my voice."I am sorry, but he won't be a problem anymore. Morning came and Jared didn't return since the night before. He didn't answer his phone or call back. All he did was send a text. I read the text from Jared again, feeling a sinking in the pit of my stomach. What had he gotten himself into now?“Please, Margaret. I am sorry for all I have done earlier. I am sorry for yesterday as well. Please stop Sir Adam from firing me. Because he can.”As I tried to make sense of it all, there was a knock on the door, hoping it was Jared, I rushed and opened it to find a man standing there, dressed in a suit and hat. He bowed before speaking, "Good morning, Mrs. Mclintok, you have been called up to an outing by Sir Adam Webby. A car is waiting outside whenever you're ready. Take your time to prepare and get your daughter ready too." He handed me a bag. "In here are some clothing materials for you and your daughter. Caspian looked up at Thompson, his eyes sharp with determination. "There's more to this than meets the eye, Senator. We need to dig deeper." Thompson nodded, his jaw clenched in frustration.
