Gabriel returned to the party after what transpired between him and Wendy. The entire hall was well ventilated, but he couldn’t breathe. All he could think of was the fact that he was unlucky. Everything he did ended up badly.

“I need some air,” he said, taking off his jacket and placing it on a seat.

Wendy, who felt humiliated, sat down on the bed, thinking of the best way to get back at Gabriel. She couldn’t believe that a commoner like him could reject her. Even though they were almost bankrupt, she believed in the investment with wealthy companies like the Whitewoods.
