The next morning, the soft rays of the sun gently illuminated Maureen's room as she stirred awake on her birthday. A knock on the door interrupted her thoughts, and to her surprise, James walked in with a warm smile.

"Happy Birthday, Matron!" he exclaimed, holding a small bouquet.

Maureen's eyes widened with joy as she accepted the flowers.

"Thank you, James! Where did you get it this early morning!."

"I wanted to make sure your day started on a bright note," James replied with a warm smile

"Thank you, James" Her eyes were brimming with joy

"How about we head to the living room? I have another surprise for you." James requested as he tried to get her out of the bed

Maureen chuckled and said "You made me remember my last birthday, I missed your present "

"You don't need to remember it anymore, I will always be there for you ma, your birthday will be celebrated especially from now on" James promised as he walked her out of her room
