CHAPTER SIXTY SEVEN

Maureen's expression shifted to a sceptical gaze as she considered James' idea of celebrating for a month.

Maureen acknowledged that she couldn't deter James when he was set on something. She walked to where the clothes were and packed them in the laundry.

James had several plans for Maureen'sbirthday but wanted to make it a surprise.

He intended to appreciate Maureen for being a mother and father figure in his life. Maureen had been there for him through thick and thin.

James had already bought jewellery she would wear that day and booked a very nice venue that only rich people celebrate there.

Now he had forgotten to buy clothes and shoes suitable for her.

Thank God Maureen brought out that dress if not it wouldn't have occurred to James that he had forgotten the clothes she would wear.

He took his car key and said bye without waiting for Maureen to reply but made sure he was audible enough so that Maureen would hear him from the laundry.
