CHAPTER SIX

"Are you sure you don't have the wrong person? " James questioned with scepticism. He was completely puzzled as to why a wealthy person would act so respectful towards him and address him young master Winslow

"Of course not young master Winslow" the man answered with a tone of certainty. He had been in search of James for a very long time and there was no way he was mistaken.

"Let me introduce myself properly" Brian adjusted his suit "My name is Brian Mariano, the current butler of the Winslow family, my father Ethan Mariano, who was your late father's butler and best friend..."

"Wait wait wait...My father?" James interrupted him before he could continue.

James grew up in the orphanage, he never cared about who is parents were before, he was too focused on his part time jobs to care about what he thought was trivial things.

Brian nodded "Yes, your father, Charles Winslow, he was the head of the Winslow Group"

James eyes widened at the mention of the Winslow group, The Winslow Group is not just any company. It's the most wealthy and powerful in the entire south district. The Winslow Group had a net worth of trillions of dollars, he thought his surname was just a mere coincidence and that he had no relationship whatsoever with the family.

"When you were still a little child, there was a terrible car accident and your parents died in the crash" Brian said lowering his head, although James had just found out about his parents, a huge sense of loss overwhelmed him.

"We thought you died in the car crash but there were no traces of your corpse found at the scene, because of that my father strongly believed you were alive, and before he died he charged me with the responsibility of finding you and handing over the Winslow Group to you"

James stared at Brian trying to comprehend what he was saying, he remembered what Maureen had told him, she had told him that a middle-aged man had brought him into the orphanage and told her his name, the middle-aged man warned repeatedly never to change his name and she obeyed.

Brian signalled one of the men to get something from the car, and while he went Brian continued "I immediately recognized you when I saw you on the news about the incident that happened at Cherry Garden... I promise you young master, All those who have wronged you will bow down at your feet"

The guard who went to get something from the car came back bringing along a black briefcase and handed it to Brian, Brian carefully opened the briefcase.

"This, young master Winslow, is the Winslow family heirloom," Brian explained as he took out the heirloom from the briefcase with a sense of reverence, it was an exquisite piece of craftsmanship, suspended from what looked like an ancient thread was a meticulously designed pendant, shaped in the form of the Winslow family crest.

"It symbolizes the Winslow legacy, your father, Charles Winslow, instructed that you should never take it off" James slowly stretched out his hands and received the heirloom, a few minutes ago he was nobody and now he was the lost heir of the Winslow Empire, James stared at the heirloom, examining it before putting it around his neck.

Brian brought out a stylish black premium card laced with gold at the edge with his name on it"Here is your bank card, exclusively made for the Heir of Winslow Group, there is over 10 billion dollars in this card, you can spend it anywhere you want or buy anything you need"

"10 billion dollars???" James screamed.

"Yes, young master" Brian answered "you are now the heir of the Winslow Empire, that amount of money means nothing"

James shook his head, James could not wrap his head around how wealthy he was, a few minutes ago he was the rejected son-in-law and now he had over 10 billion in his account!!!

"And lastly you don't need to worry about the money for Maureen's surgery all the expenses have been taken care of, she should be out of surgery anytime soon"

James was filled with gratitude as he clutched the pendant around his neck "Can we go and see her at the hospital now?"

"Of course young master" Brian said and led James to the Rolls-Royce, opening the door for him and gesturing for him to enter the exotic car.

James stepped into the luxurious Rolls-Royce, settling into the plush leather seat. Brian, closed the door with a gentle click before taking his place in the driver's seat.

After a few minutes they arrived in front of St Mary's hospital, James immediately rushed to Maureen's ward, and Brian followed behind closely.

"Maureen," James called out softly, Her eyes flickered open, and a warm smile spread across her face upon seeing James.

"James, my dear," she whispered holding James hands "I have good news, a good Samaritan decided to pay for my surgery and it was successful" Maureen said, smiling excitedly. Maureen did not know Brian was the one that sorted the bills with his new found wealth.

"Exactly what I heard and I came to the hospital, I'm so glad you're alright now" James said massaging her hand, Brian looked at James with confusion and James gave him a look, he immediately understood that he did not want his Matron to know about his true identity yet.

"And who is this?" Maureen asked bringing her gaze to the man at the entrance of the ward dressed in an expensive suit.
