CHAPTER THIRTY FOUR

Maureen closed her eyes, twitching in fright, expecting a slap to land across her face, but nothing happened.

When she opened her eyes, she was shocked.

James held the bulky man's hand in mid air before it landed on her face.

She stared at James in shock, she did not know what to say.
