The evening light shed a pleasant glow over Lucas's living room as he strolled about, preparing things for an upcoming business meeting. His travel bag was open on the sofa, complete with nicely folded clothing, paperwork, and a laptop. The anticipation of the travel buzzed in the air, and Lucas, concentrated on the work at hand, prepared to start on this professional excursion.

As he ticked off things on his mental list, the sound of small footsteps reached his ears. Lucas turned to find his three-year-old son, Liam, standing at the doorway with wide, interested eyes. The unsaid innocence in Liam's stare brought an instinctive grin to Lucas's face, briefly distracting his focus from the business preparations.

"Hey there, little explorer," Lucas welcomed, stooping down to Liam's eye level. "What brings you to Daddy's work zone?"

Liam, with a tangle of unkempt hair and a toy truck clasped in one hand, approached his father with wordless interest. "Daddy, where you goin'?"
