113: Just the Right Time

After taking a few deep breaths and looking intently into his eyes, Mina resumed what she was saying, “Barrett, I don’t know how it’s going to work, I need to fight, and you, well, I understand why you don’t want to, but, I don’t even know if you can stay in the facility, this war will not stop.”

Barrett looked at her and, calmly breathing, said, “I hope so, actually! I don’t want to keep fighting, my brother Mina died, and his wife is devastated. My daughters only have me. I can’t risk it!”

Mina lowered her head and nodded. She asked, “Will you at least be my escort for the meeting?”

Barrett looked up and said, “I will. As I told you, it is within the stipulated time!”

Mina gave a slight nod before bowing her head and looking at the ground with eyes that were almost completely filled with tears. She did this while still maintaining her composure.

She said, “Not long ago, you told me that you would help me get back what belonged to me. But now, you decided to leave….”
