CHAPTER 30

When Victor got out of the warehouse, he strolled around the building for a moment to make sure no one was hiding before getting into his car. He checked the time on his phone. It was a few minutes past four in the evening.

He had not had anything solid to eat all through the day. The hangover had finally cleared off the moment he thought he had come face-to-face with his death.

He drove off, taking a different route. The gun was perfectly seated under his seat. Even though it was his licensed gun, he had no right to walk around with it.

In no distant time, he was at the heart of the city, driven towards the Atlantic Stiller's restaurant situated by the road. It was a two-story building that held an exquisite restaurant and a bar upstairs. He pulled over and walked in. Mai had texted him the exact spot where she was sitting in the restaurant. As he made his way through the thick, transparent door, he dipped his hand into his pocket and tipped the steward standing by the gate.
