CHAPTER 81

A knock on Victor's door, and he finds himself creeping out to check who it was. He had had one of the best sleeps of his life since the chaos with his cousin.

He grudgingly stormed out of his room, taking short, calculated steps on the stairs. He wasn't expecting anyone at all, so it bothers him who would be standing at his doorpost knocking in these early hours of the morning.

“Who is it?” He called out the moment he was close to the door. He heard the voice say something, but the cook got the words right. He turned the knob and pulled it open.

"Yes, how may I help you?" He spoke to the man standing in front of him. Victor scanned the man's face; he suspected he had seen him somewhere, but he just couldn't place a finger at the exact place he had seen the man.

“Good morning, Mr. Victor Coleman. I am Detective Reynolds." He asked for his ID.

Victor's mind skipped for a bit.

“A detective in my house? How did you even know where I lived?" Victor was surprised at the sudden show-up
