CHAPTER 84
A second bang on the door, and her mother ran out of the house to get the door.

“Mom!” Mia called out happily.

Mia! Her mother responded with a huge smile this time, and then they hugged.

“Come on in, where have you been?” Her mother asked, leading her into the small living room. She held Mia's hand tight and squeezed it a bit. Her baby girl has been nowhere to be found for a couple of days, and she couldn't even do anything about it.

“Billy, Billy, our daughter is back." She called, and in no time Billy came rushing out of the room into the sitting room. He rushed towards his daughter and hugged her tight.

“We've been searching for you. Not literally, though, but where have you been?” Billy asked, but Mia was mute and calm. Billy searched her face and saw a black line traced on her cheek.

“You've got a huge bruise on your face? What happened to you?” Billy asked. Mia had always known her father to be the very observant one, unlike her mom, who barely noticed anything happening to her
