"Whatever," Felix said, feeling exasperated. Sasha was probably the first person he'd ever met who would resent the person who'd saved her.

"You can't refute me, can you? Anyway, think about how long it took you to arrive after I told you to come! If you'd arrived earlier, you could've drank with Mr. Barton on my behalf. None of this would've even happened!" Sasha snapped.

Felix knew martial arts and seemed to be quite good in a fight—if Ivan's words could be trusted. Yet, in the end, he'd let Saul off the hook just like that. Sasha didn't believe Felix would've allowed the matter to slide so easily if the woman he loved had been in her situation.

They finally arrived at the Quinton residence. Warren and Nattie were home, and Felix had completed his mission. Thus, he said, "I'm leaving, Uncle Warren."

"Alright. Drive safe."

Sasha burst into tears almost as soon as Felix was gone.

Warren hurried over to her, his heartache clear. "What's wrong, Sasha?"
