Chapter 9
Author: Dreamy Fire
Jamie was stunned, as were others in the lobby who heard the words "Supreme Black Card".

Sasha, too, gaped at Felix in disbelief.

The Supreme Black Card was a rare status symbol. Only about 30 people in the world possessed it, each with wealth beyond imagination.

So, how could Felix possibly be a holder of the Supreme Black Card? That was just absurd!

Swallowing hard, Jamie stammered. He knew that even the cardholders of the next tier down, the Diamond Card, would be greeted by the bank manager at the door.

Handling a Supreme Black Card was a first for him, and Jamie was beyond nervous.

"P-Please verify your identity."

Though the standard procedure was to immediately escort Supreme Black Card holders to the VIP room and notify the bank manager, Jamie was overwhelmed by the situation and couldn't think straight.

"Alright," Felix agreed, placing his right hand on the machine.

Sasha's mind was racing as she watched. She needed to figure out how to make amends for offending Felix all this while.

She thought, "Oh, my God! Dad's judgment was spot on. If I married Felix, our status and wealth would be unimaginable. I'm such an idiot. He's been staying low-key all along, and I—"

Beep, beep, beep!

A rapid alarm sounded from the machine.

Jamie was dumbfounded, staring at the screen displaying Felix's card and his fingerprint verification attempt. The alarm indicated that his fingerprint didn't match the cardholder's.

"Sir, please try again."

Felix frowned. Leslie had assured him that everything was in order, so this shouldn't be happening. Reluctantly, he tried verifying his fingerprint again, only for the alarm to blare once more.

At this point, Jamie smirked, his initial tension and fear evaporating.

"Security!"

Turning to Felix, he said, "You've got some nerve to impersonate a Supreme Black Card holder. Do you think we're fools? If anyone could just pick up a bank card and use it, we'd have gone bankrupt ages ago."

Jamie's words, coupled with the machine's alarm, quickly drew mocking laughs from others in the lobby, who resumed their business.

Sasha was on the verge of a breakdown. She had just felt a pang of self-reproach for misjudging Felix and had even contemplated how to apologize and curry favor with him, only to discover he was a fraud.

"Your antics only make me despise you more. How could there be someone as shameless as you?" she yelled at Felix before storming off.

She feared that staying any longer might provoke her to physical violence, which would be humiliating.

Moreover, Felix's actions could have serious consequences. Depending on how the bank handled it, he could face legal action.

"You'd better notify your manager, or I'm afraid something unpleasant might happen," Felix said calmly.

Jamie smiled smugly. "Oh, really? Well, you guessed right. Something unpleasant is about to happen. I'm calling the police, and you're in big trouble."

At that moment, Troye Miller, the bank manager, approached. Upon noticing the commotion, he asked, "What's going on here?"

Jamie quickly put down the phone and politely responded, "Mr. Miller, this person picked up a Supreme Black Card and is trying to pass himself off as the cardholder. I was just about to call the police."

Troye's face turned grave. "You idiot! Did you forget our procedures? Any major client must be reported to top management for verification. Who are you to decide its authenticity?"

Jamie shrank back in fear. He suddenly remembered that the bank indeed had such a policy. He shouldn't have had Felix verify his identity. He should've escalated the matter to a higher authority instead.

"I'm terribly sorry, sir. Please follow me. He'll be immediately dismissed," said Troye.

Felix said nothing and followed Troye toward the VIP section.

This was the proper protocol. Leslie wouldn't have played a trick on him. She must have given authorization, but only top-level officials would be aware of it.

Jamie's face turned ashen. He had no one to blame but himself. His mistake had cost him his job.

By the time Felix left the bank, not only had he retained the Supreme Black Card but also got himself a Diamond Card and transferred some money into the account.

Felix dialed Wendy's number.

"Dr. Zeller!"

"Just call me Felix."

Wendy was over the moon. She couldn't believe that Felix was reaching out to her again.

"Alright, Felix."

Felix continued, "Do you have time to meet? I need your help with something."

As the wealthiest family in Avesburgh, the Kinsleys could easily procure rare herbs, much more efficiently than Felix, who couldn't seek help from his fellow apprentices.

"Yes! But I'm a bit tied up at the moment. I hope you understand."

"Sure. Just get in touch when you're free."

At that moment, Wendy had just arrived at the gates of Silverwood.

She would've dropped everything if Felix wanted to meet, but she was already on her way to see Xena. She wouldn't dare cancel on the goddess of war, no matter what.

Thankfully, Felix seemed understanding, or she would've been in quite a predicament.

As Wendy was about to ring the doorbell, the door opened.

"Ms. Kinsley, please come in."

Seeing the casually dressed woman at the door, Wendy felt self-conscious. She had heard of Xena countless times but had never met her in person.

Wendy thought, "So, this is the goddess of war? She's breathtaking. Even I, a woman, am in awe. Men must be speechless around her."

After entering the house, Wendy was noticeably nervous.

The difference in their social standings was overwhelming. They were only meeting because Xena happened to live in Avesburgh. Otherwise, their paths might never have crossed.

"Pleasure to meet you, Lady Summers."

Xena smiled warmly. "No need to be so tense. I don't bite, and I'm not here to reprimand you. In fact, I need your help."

Wendy was taken aback. What could the powerful Xena possibly need from her?

Noticing her look of confusion, Xena added, "I'll be honest. I heard that a young man cured your grandfather. I want to know who he is and how I can contact him."

Wendy finally understood what Xander was referring to at that time. Just then, Felix's phone rang. When Sasha and the others saw the caller ID, their fury was immediately extinguished.A phone call from Wendy Kinsley?Everyone knew of Wendy. She was the daughter of the richest man here, the drop-dead gorgeous CEO of Avesburgh, and the dream woman of countless men.Just this guy? Did he really have access to Wendy's mobile? That was beyond belief. At this point, Felix had already stepped aside to answer the call."Are you here?""In a few minutes, F-Felix. Since you're there, I've made a reservation at Zenith Pavilion. We can talk there. It's quite quiet. There's no need to change locations."Although she had Felix's permission to address him by his given name, Wendy still felt distinctly uncomfortable."Okay. Hugo's brows knitted together as his deep gaze landed on Ruth."Are you saying Felix—the guy freeloading at Sasha's—has Wendy's phone number?"Ruth shrank back in fear, while Sasha stepped in to smooth things over."Hugo, I'm afraid you've misunderstood. That guy just loves to show off. If you let me explain, I'm sure we can clear things up for you."After learning about Felix's actions at Concord Bank and his presence here, Hugo let out a disdainful sneer."That's more like it. If someone like that had access to Wendy's contact, even pigs could fly!"Ivan quickly chimed in, "You're right. It was just too much of a coincidence! We almost let that bastard fool us again."Hugo patted him on the shoulder. "How dare that piece of garbage that even Sasha despises pretend to have Wendy's number? Don't you guys agree that he needs a lesson?"Ivan caught his message without fail. He had long been thinking about teaching Felix a lesson for harboring thoughts about his woman. Now that he

The Miracle Card worked in a rather straightforward way. On its flip side were multiple layers of a special coating. Each time it was retrieved, a layer would be peeled off to reveal a new phone number. This would be Gerald's latest contact information. This system seemed to have no safeguards, yet it topped any high-tech security system. Only two people in the world could process the card for its next use—Felix and Gerald. They practiced the same unique technique, which was the only method to remove the coating.By now, the little boy had arrived at the entrance of Luxe Dining. He held the Miracle Card in his hands. The previous coating had already been peeled off by Felix, thus making it ready for use.The boy hastily stopped a heavily bejeweled woman and asked, "Excuse me, ma'am. Would you like to buy this?"Disgust instantly clouded her face."Go away! Where on earth did this little beggar come from? How useless can the security be at Luxe Dining? The Phoenix Legion was a formidable force led by Xena. Apart from the highest authorities in Dragonia, the army only answered to Xena. The legion was stationed on the outskirts of Avesburgh. They occupied a vast area and were equipped with all sorts of advanced weaponry. Whenever they were deployed, victory was guaranteed.Because her unit was based here by national orders, Xena also had to reside in Avesburgh. At this moment, Xena was in her office at the headquarters of the Phoenix Legion, reviewing some documents."There's a possibility that the S-ranked fugitive group—the Menacing Four—could make an appearance in Avesburgh in the coming days? Ha! Where did these thugs get the balls to come and make a mess in my territory?"Just then, her office door swung open, and in walked her subordinate, Belle Frost. She was drop-dead gorgeous, a stunning beauty who had been under Xena for a few years now."Milady, there's news about the miracle doctor."Xena leaped to her feet. She had

At sunset, Felix stood near a café in Avesburgh. He waited by the roadside for someone to pick him up.He was in quite a good mood now. He was clad in white from head to toe, including a pair of snow-white shoes."The old man definitely did this on purpose," he muttered. This attire was Gerald's requirement, as a distinctive mark for recognition. He strongly suspected it to be a prank Gerald was pulling on him, but he ultimately had no choice in the matter.Since the Miracle Card was still in Avesburgh, it had to be the one he handed to the little boy. Its reputation and immeasurable value had to have made it an easy sell. It didn't take long at all for it to change hands. As he pondered this, a Mercedes S500 pulled up to him. The driver's door swung open, and Ivan stepped out of the car.He scanned his surroundings and reluctantly locked eyes with Felix."Felix Zeller! Xena couldn't believe her eyes. Ivan had gone out to welcome the miracle doctor, and there was no way the Cameron family would get something so important wrong. Didn't this mean that Felix was the miracle doctor? How could that be? Felix was so young, and the legends about the miracle doctor had already been around for decades. The timeline didn't match up.Winston was similarly confused. Who the hell was this guy that Ivan had brought in? Based on his looks alone, he couldn't be the miracle doctor.Felix didn't expect to see Xena around. He frowned when he saw her. "Why are there outsiders around?"Ivan didn't dare say anything—he knew he was bound to upset someone, no matter what he said. More importantly, he couldn't afford to offend any of the people present.Having outsiders around after summoning the miracle doctor with the Miracle Card was against the rules. Xander had been present at the Kinsley residence, but that was fine because he was also a healer."An outsider?" Xen

Before this, Winston would've demanded Felix return the Miracle Card to him so he could show it to Xena. Now, however, things were different. Felix had yet to start treating Cheryl, but he'd already diagnosed what'd happened.Even if Ivan didn't understand what Felix meant, Winston did. He knew that the Cameron family did indeed have a hidden foe who was a martial arts master. A few years ago, they'd received threats from this person, but Winston hadn't expected Cheryl to be the one to suffer from it.Naturally, he believed Felix was the real deal. He said hesitantly, "Mr. Zeller, what do you…""Tell her that I've already taken back the Miracle Card and left. Four men stood at the suite door. The leader was Cordon Abrams, a burly man with a crew cut. He grabbed Andrea by her hair and yanked her back inside. "I didn't do anything, I swear!" Andrea pleaded. But Cordon laughed coldly as he picked up the bag, letting all the money fall to the floor. "Really? Did he give you all this money just because you're pretty, then?" Then, he turned to Felix, who was sitting on the couch. "You seem to have a lot of money. Why not spend it enjoying women instead of asking about things you shouldn't know?" Felix remained calm as he said softly, "Looks like you put a listening device on her. You really don't give her any freedom. But with all my money, are you sure you want to mess with me?" To his surprise, Cordon laughed. "You must be from out of town. Do you really think money makes you special? If you had the chance to ask about Mr. Lazaro's reputation in this city, you wouldn't talk like that. "We've dealt with plenty of rich guys like you,

Using money was another way to get answers as well. Felix asked, "Tell me—do you know the woman on this card?" Andrea was quite an interesting woman. She smiled and said, "What? If I tell you something, is all this money mine?" Felix nodded. "That's right. If you can give me any relevant information about this woman, the money is yours. You can take it and leave now, or you can sleep in the guest room until morning." Andrea's eyes grew even brighter. She sat down across from Felix, thought for a moment, and said, "I actually do know something, since you're not the first person interested in the woman on the card. "I'll be straight with you—our boss, Bazzo Lazaro, is no ordinary guy. I've almost saved enough to move back to my hometown, so if you add a few more thousand dollars, I'll tell you everything." Interesting. Felix tossed a bag on the table containing another 80,000 dollars, also withdrawn earlier. "Here's a hundred thousand dollars in total. Can you talk now?" Afte

Felix studied the card carefully for a long time, his expression darkening. With his abilities, he couldn't have mistaken Madeline for someone else. The woman on this card looked exactly like Madeline. There might be lookalikes in the world. But aside from identical twins, strangers couldn't possibly look this similar. Felix was Madeline's good friend. Since he had stumbled upon this, he definitely needed to investigate. For someone like him, this kind of small matter was hardly any trouble at all. He dialed the number on the card, and someone answered quickly. "Do you need a massage?" "Yeah, the woman on your advertisement card looks nice. Can you send her over?"But the response made Felix even more annoyed. "Sorry. She's our top model. Two days ago, a client booked her for a whole month and took her on a world tour. "But don't worry. Holy crap, this sounded like some kind of tantric sex magic to Felix. No wonder Billy had mentioned ethics and good values earlier. Felix asked, "So, people with Soulhunters are super powerful, right?" Billy snickered and said, "How could that be possible? Life may never be fair, but it doesn't build anyone a direct path to the top. "Take the Soulhunter, for example. To keep advancing this way, you'd need to throw away all your good values and keep performing Spirit Binding with the opposite sex. "And if you do it with the same person, it only works the first time unless the other person levels up again." Now that Billy had mentioned ethics again, Felix looked uncomfortable. "So… does Soul Binding really feel good?" Billy sighed and gave it to him straight. "I won't lie to you. This thing is way more intense than regular lovemaking. Put it this way—people with poor self-control would get hooked after just one time. "But you can't do Soul Binding too often, or it causes pe

"This is a huge hassle, okay? I'm making sacrifices, too." Seeing this, Felix could only continue questioning, "Tell me why you need Xena, then. Won't someone else work?" Surprisingly, Billy actually explained, "As you know, martial artists have many different body types, each with their own characteristics. The more powerful the constitution, the rarer it is. "And the same applies to souls. You don't actually believe everyone's soul was created the same way, do you?" Felix had actually pondered this question before, but he never found any relevant information about it. Even the book Billy gave him and the Phaeron Codex never mentioned it. "So, you'

"Yes, Felix. You've told me this before. I won't do anything stupid." Although Luna hoped Felix could stay with her—even fantasizing about sleeping with him again—she realized it was all wishful thinking as she watched his departing figure.Felix had bought an electric bike that cost over 10,000 dollars from a nearby store. He rode it to the doors of a closed shopping mall and sat on the bike, just watching. The mall wasn't in the center of the city, nor was it too remote. The location was extremely average. However, it had been open for over a decade now, and the interior had undergone drastic renovations, indicating that it still made money. According to Donna's text, this mall was called Orchard Square. It was the place the Green Soul Scout mentioned. "A soul barrier…" Felix muttered to himself as he observed. With his current strength, there shouldn't be a problem dealing with the Black Soul Scout. However, Donna still warned him because of the soul barrier. The "soul barrier

Is there an S-tier Malevolent Phantom in Zuera whose soul core is about to break?" After saying that, he felt that something was wrong. He could kill one, and he could kill another. The chances of winning were much greater than before. It shouldn't be the same problem.Sure enough, Donna's answer confirmed his assumption."How can there be so many S-tier Malevolent Phantoms with their soul cores on the verge of collapse? That probability would be one in 10,000! It has a very, very slim possibility."Felix was confused. "Then, what exactly is going on? Why are you warning me like this?"After a pause, Donna said, "The S-tier Malevolent Phantom here came and asked me to leave."That was it? Felix didn't reply, waiting for her to continue. He couldn't leave so soon, especially if it was just for that reason. "When we arrived in Zuera, I immediately sensed two S-ti

That couldn't be helped. Most countries had short histories and lacked the means to fight against Malevolent Phantoms. Otherwise, why would we use such a low-level way to please one another?"Their "reproduction" was the fusion of souls. It was how the Malevolent Phantoms multiplied. However, before being sent here, they had rules in place. Despite being S-tier Malevolent Phantoms, they were temporarily forced to please themselves through human methods instead. The two of them felt it almost at the exact same time. "Huh?
