Storm's eyelids began to lift open as he slowly woke up from his slumber.
"I'm not dead?" Storm frowned with a disappointed look. He remembered ingesting a poison that was enough to kill twenty men..why then was he still alive. "Maybe the pills were all fake. Darn the man that sold it to me."
"My bracelet." Storm glanced at his wrist, but his bracelet was gone. Thinking about it, images of earlier began to flash back.
The whole bright light that filled the room..and also..
"What was thats screen i saw earlier?" Saying those last words, the same screen from earlier materialised right in front of Storm.
[STORM WALKER HAS REACHED THE REQUIREMENT]
[VESSEL HAS BEEN ACQUIRED]
[TO PROCEED, VESSEL NEEDS TO COMPLETE THE ACCEPTANCE QUEST]
[CLICK ON YES TO ACCEPT, AND NO TO DECLINE THE POWER]
[YES] [NO]
Storm glanced at the screen in front of him in bewilderment.
"Haha, I didn't die, instead I was struck with madness and now I am seeing things." Storm rubbed his dirty blonde hair with a chuckle as he shifted his gaze away from the screen and laid back on his bed.
"I have a terrible headache. I'll just sleep it off and hope things get back to normal by the time I wake." Storm muttered as he closed his eyes to sleep.
[IF VESSEL DOES NOT ACCEPT, THE POISON YOU DIGESTED EARLIER WILL TAKE IMMEDIATE EFFECT AND KILL YOU.]
Storm's eyes shot open and he jumped up from his bed. "What is this?" Storm panicked.
For someone who attempted to take his own life earlier, he was really afraid to die.
[[CLICK ON YES TO ACCEPT, AND NO TO DECLINE THE POWER]
[YES] [NO]
[0:0:10s]
[0:09s]
Storm shifted his gaze back to the screen with a racing heart.
"Power? What power is it referring to?" Storm wondered in contemplation and his gaze fixated on the screen. After several seconds of contemplation, he finally accepted.
[VESSEL WILL NOW BE TRANSPORTED TO THE QUEST LOCATION]
Receiving the last set of notification, Storm vanished from his room instantly.
Moments after Storm vanished, Grandpa Sikes finally forced the door open after trying for hours. Entering into the room, he glanced around with a puzzled expression.
"Huh? Where did he go?" Grandpa Sikes mused in confusion as he didn't seem to find Storm inside. The window wasn't big enough to fit Storm, how then did he exit the room?
***
Storm appeared in a certain location a few seconds after vanishing from his room. The place looked like an empty train station with different vast sections and bright lights.
[YOU ARE NOW IN THE ACCEPTANCE QUEST VENUE]
[SURVIVE FOR 5 HOURS]
An holographic screen popped up right in front of Storm. Storm examined the screen in contemplation.
"Survive from what exactly?" Saying those words, Storm began to hear footsteps from a distance until what looked like a rat the size of a man appeared.
The rat stood on two feets, blade-like claws, razor sharp fangs, and a sharp tail wagging behind.
Catching a glimpse of the monster, Storm gulped and cold sweat trickled down his face.
"I'm supposed to fight that?" Storm gulped with a racing heart as he stood metres away from the rat. The rat examined its prey for a few more minutes before charging in.
Watching the rat charge towards him, Storm turned around and began to run for his life. Storm's body was quite fit and he was agile, so it was easy to close a distance in a short period of time.
"Ha..ha...ha...ha.." Storm kept panting heavily while running as fast as his legs could carry him with the giant rat following him closely behind.
The giant rat leapt up into the air and landed in front of Storm, causing him to halt his steps quickly.
"Shit!" Storm cursed as the vicious rat closed in on him and slashed its blade-like claws towards him. The claws moved through the air at incredible speed, and Storm managed to move his body sideways, dodging the claws.
But even if Storm had dodged it, the tip of the claws still scraped his ribs area and had caused blood to be drawn.
Storm gritted his teeth in pain and leapt several metres backwards to create a gap, but the rat closed in on him instantly and sent out its claws once more.
Reacting swiftly, Storm lifted up both hands and grabbed the claws when it was only inches away from his face. The sharp edges of the claws sunk into Storm's palms and caused blood to flow, but he still didn't let go.
He knew fully well that if he released the claws the monster would rip him to shreds.
"AAARRRGGGHHH!" Storm screamed in pain as the sharp edges kept sinking into his palms and caused more blood to flow and stain the tiled floor.
Still holding onto the claws, Storm gritted his teeth and began to lift the rat off the floor with all his might. He kept screaming while pulling it up, and his muscles could be seen bulging.
Storm managed to lift it a few inches off the floor and sent it crashing against the wall nearby. The rat's head hit the wall and caused the neck to twist as it dropped dead.
"Ha..ha..ha.." Storm fell down on his knees breathless. Blood seeped out of his palms and his whole shirt was now drenched in sweat.
While Strom was trying to catch his breath, he began to hear footsteps from ahead, causing him to shift his gaze and all he saw was hundreds of the same giant rats charging towards him.
"You have got to be kidding me!" Storm lamented as he rose up and got in a fighting stance as the rats kept charging towards him.
He knew running away would be useless. He already tried running against the previous one but it didn't turn out well. Storm now had only one option, which was to stand and fight.
[ACCEPTANCE QUEST COMPLETED]
[VESSEL WILL NOW GO DORMANT UNTIL THE PROCESSING IS COMPLETE]
Receiving those last sets of notification, Storm collapsed to the floor unconscious.
[PROCESSING HAS BEEN COMPLETED][POWERS HAS BEEN GRANTED TO THE VESSEL]Storm rose up sluggishly from his bed feeling a bit relieved from his earlier headache. He glanced outside the window and noticed it was morning already."Can't believe I actually survived that." Storm mused as the encounter with the giant rat began to play in his head over and over again. He never imagined himself defeating a monster like that since humans are meant to be weak, but somehow it did."My wounds.." Strom glanced at his palms where the claws injured but there was nothing. Not even a single scratch, which made him puzzled."I had doubts about this system thing earlier..but after what happened, it convinced me that it's actually real. Question is where did it come from?"[ROAD TO BECOME THE STRONGEST]-NAME: STORM WALKER-LEVEL 1-TITLE: NONE-HP: 1000/1000-MANA POINTS: 1000/1000-EXP: 0/100[STATS]STRENGTH: 10AGILITY: 10SPEED: 10REFLEX: 10SENSES: 10[AVAILABLE STATS TO DISTRIBUTE: 20][ABILITIES]
"Hmm..Still no cha.." While Strom was busy glancing at his muscles, he began to hear crashing sounds from outside. Confused by the noise, Strom dashed out from the room and arrived in the living room."Grandpa!" Storm exclaimed through gritted teeth as he watched a high orc grab Grandpa Sikes's neck and lift him off the floor while strangling him."Storm...run!" Grandpa Sikes managed to speak as the high orc kept squeezing the life out of him.Storm stood there dazed for few seconds before regaining composure and began to charge forward. Getting in striking distance, Storm clenched his right fist tightly and punched it towards the high orc's face.BAM!The punch slammed heavily on his head, causing him to let go of grandpa Sikes and got sent crashing outside the house."Are you okay?" Storm bent down in front of Grandpa Sikes with a worrisome look as he kept coughing."I told you to run, Storm. These guys will kill you." Grandpa Sikes warned while trying to catch his breath."I can't
Storm explained to his father exactly what happened last night, but tried his best to not mention anything about a system that only he could see. He told him how he took in poison in hopes of killing himself but was somehow cured and woke up with the ability, and his bracelet was also gone.Storm also left out the quests stuff to make things not seem weirder than it already is.After the whole narration, the room fell silent as grandpa Sikes just sat there in contemplation. Storm's words were too much for him to digest all at once. After a few minutes of silence, he finally uttered, "The power must have been gotten from your father's bracelet. I always knew there was something more to that bracelet.""Did he tell you anything about the bracelet while handing it over?" Storm questioned, hoping to learn more about the strange system."He only said you would understand when you've come of age." Grandpa Sikes responded. "You beat up some generals, they will send soldiers after you any mom
The students were led outside the white area and were taken to a whole new location. It was a vast open area, a raised platform could be seen in the middle, and three staff could be seen waiting a few distant away."Please come forth to begin the ranking test!" A female staff ordered in an audible tone.A boy amongst the group wasted no time in mounting the raised platform where a round object could be seen floating a few metres in the air. "The first test is a strength test. Please punch the ball with everything you've got!" The female staff informed me.The boy took a deep breath in as he clenched his fist, pulled his arm backwards, and swung it forth with all his might.BAM!A loud noise reverberated throughout the area as the boy's fist connected to the ball, and what looked like a number began to read until it finally stopped at 87.The staff recorded the number in their register as they proceeded to the next which was target practice. Six objects appeared metres away from wher
The room door opened and another student walked in. He had jet black hair and a muscular build. Glancing at him, Storm recognised him as the guy who took the test first. Storm shifted his gaze to the boy's wrist and spotted the letter "A" on it. It was expected, the boy was exceptional during the test. The boy ignored Storm like he wasn't there at all and made his way towards the bed to unpack his bag. Storm wasn't bothered by the guy's attitude as he also went to his bed and laid down. There was something he has been meaning to check for a while now.[YOU HAVE SOME UNREAD NOTIFICATIONS.]Storm called out the system after laying down on his bed. He got the notification after defeating the Orcs but hasn't had time to click on it.'I wonder what it is.' Storm pondered internally as he clicked on it out of curiousity. The screen infront of him now morphed to a whole new one.[YOUR REWARD FOR HIDDEN QUEST HAS ARRIVED]'Hidden quest?' Storm mused with his fingers on his chin in contemplati
Storm didn't respond for a while as he just stood there with his head facing the floor. Images of how Flare burnt down grandpa Sikes's only source of income to the ground came flooding his mind and made his blood boil in anger."Hey, i am talking to you, trash! What are you doing in a place like this?" Flare repeated his question while tightening his grip. After few seconds of staying mute, Storm finally spoke."You only have three seconds to get your hand off me." Storm uttered in a deep and menancing tone.Hearing the words of Storm, Flare and other students in the cafeteria broke out in serious laughter."Can you all believe this guy, hahah..." Flare paused in his laughter as he felt Storm grab his arm and his bones began to twist.'What's with his strength?' Flare pondered internally as Storm twisted his arm before letting go and walked away. While Storm walked away, Flare pulled out a dagger and stabbed Storm from behind, causing him to grunt in serious pain and fall down to his
"He's dead!" Storm turned to the shadow. "You! You've gone too far..."From the shape of the shadow, Storm recognised the person as the kid who ignored him from their dorm room. "You..." "There's no rules stating we're not allowed to harm or kill other students, I'm just showing you... This academy... This world, do not take it lightly. Also, you're welcome." With that, the figure returned to his shadow dissappearing from the cafeteria. And just like that, the academy's officials picked up the dead body and the rest of the students resumed their daily activities like nothing happened. Storm didn't know how to feel. He hated Flare for bullying him so much but it wasn't enough to want him dead. "If I was stronger than I am now, I could have been fast enough to stop the bastard!" The next day..."Did you hear?"Storm was walking through the hallways when he overhear some of the students talking."The Valiant Games will be starting soon.""It's starting much earlier." The Valiant
The stadium resounded with the uproarious cheers emanating from the colosseum as the commencement of the first round of the Valiant games was announced. " Let the Valiant games begin!"declared the announcer, prompting both behemoths to swiftly leap back and create distance between them. They then raised their arms and summoned their revered artifacts. Kaze firmly grasped his hammer's handle, causing electricity to surge around him as he executed a few practice swings in mid-air.Kaze's wields a war hammer. It's a magical Magical Item that has a strong affinity with electricity. Kaze clenched the handle of his hammer, electricity crackled around him as he takes a couple of test swings in the airGou followed suit with his mace artifact, the Gada - a weapon befitting of Hanuman, the Hindu deity known for his immense strength. The fervent crowd erupted in enthusiastic cheers. The crowd cheered wildly. "Our competitors have heated up the match before it even began by summoning their
“ What are you going to do to me?” Derek asked. He glared at Storm who didn't seem to care about the way he looked at him.“Derek, King of hell. You are hereby banished for the three realms. You would live in exile for the rest of your life. You are forever immortal and no matter what you do, you would never die. Birds would feed on you, you would never find peace no matter what you do.” Derek laughed maniacally after he spoke. As Storm turned to leave, Derek yelled, “I hope you die just like your parents did.” Storm paused at the door and only glanced at him before he left.Walking out of the palace, he noticed that everywhere was quiet, except for the hoots of owls. Storm didn't waste much time and closed the gate to the three realms. The gate to the three realms was a portal of unimaginable power and complexity, he quickly shut the portal, severing the connection between the three realms that had caused so much chaos. The air around the gate shimmered with a lot of energy. The atm
“What are you waiting for?” Immediately, he heard the voice, he turned and looked at Storm in shock, not knowing what to say. Derek stared at Storm speechless, he was supposed to be dead. At that moment, Storm was more like a celestial being. All his injuries had been healed, and he was looking like a newly transformed person. The transformation was so astonishing that it left him speechless, his mind raced as he stared at Storm. How was this possible? He should be dead? Derek quickly glanced at Storm's right hand and noticed it was intact, he looked around him but still saw the severed hand beside him. How was that possible? This shouldn't be happening. It wasn't a part of his plans, everything he had learnt about the Orb didn't have to do with this. Could it being a dead person back to life?Storm stood there, looking strong and his body glowed as bright as the orb. His once tattered clothes were now different , better than before and his skin had no injury on it. The contrast betw
Storm laid down on the ground and thought about everything. Not just his own end, but the end of everything he fought for, everything he believed in. He had promised to save the world, to change everything back and now he was about to give up.He could hear the echoes of his own words, the promises he made to his friends and Lillian. "I will fix everything," he said, with all the conviction of a man who thought he could change everything immediately he entered the other realm. But fate, it seems, has a sense of humor. Derek had told him he was supposed to die at the end, he didn't believe him at first but here he was lying on the floor on the verge of dying.Storm remembered the faces of his friends. He could remember their smile, Keith's smirk he always seemed to have on, Lucy's perfect eyebrows she always raised when she was angry, Ella's warm smile and Kade’s perfect smile. Their eyes had been filled with trust and high hopes and it haunted him now. They had believed in him, and
Seeing the figure standing up again, Storm's heart beat faster. He couldn't beat Derek without the Orb but he needed to fight him before getting the Orb. The pressure he felt from him was enormous, a suffocating weight that pinned him to the spot. He could barely move, his muscles strained against an invisible force. His heart pounded in his chest, each beat echoing like a drum in his ears. The air around him seemed to thicken, making it hard to breathe. He knew he had no other choice but to fight, yet every fiber of his bones screamed at him to run.“You know, no one has ever tried to fight me but you tried, I'll give you that. Even my daughter couldn't beat me, what made you think you could?” Derek laughed loudly his voice reverberating against the walls.“You are a horrible person. A horrible father, a horrible ruler!” Storm yelled.“Oh, I know that. I am sure my daughter told you about our history. I never wanted a daughter but I got unlucky, I need someone strong, powerful bu
Storm immediately smirked at the Magebreaker. He was definitely going to kill him now after he heard everything the Magebreaker had said. The memory of their last encounter flashed vividly in his mind. “Beforenyou get to use the Orb, I would end you myself.” Storm sneered, his voice dripping with hatred and anger. “Last time, you selead my powers, now we have a score to settle.”Magebreaker’s eyes narrowed, a flicker of anger crossing his face. “You think you can defeat me , Storm? I would end you before you even lay a finger on me.” he retorted, his voice a low growl. The tension between them crackled like electricity in the air.Without another word, the two lunged at each other, their movements a blur of speed and power. Storm's hands immediately found his sword as he swung it towards Magebreaker who swiftly dodged to the side, his own hands glowing with a dark energy. He unleashed a torrent of electricity towards Storm who dodged.Storm’s smirk widened as he saw Magebreaker’s atte
Just as Storm was about to move forward, he heard a loud voice welcoming him with laughter, echoing through the dimly lit chamber. "Welcome, Storm! Feel at home!" the voice boomed, reverberating off the whole place. Storm's heart skipped a beat. He paused, squinting into the shadows, trying to pinpoint the source of the voice. "That must be Lillian's father," he muttered under his breath, his muscles tensed as he took a defensive stance. He knew he had to stay on his guard. The voice had an eerie, almost mocking quality, and he couldn't afford to let his guard down for a second. He scanned his surroundings, every nerve on edge, his senses heightened.Without caring about anything else, he rushed towards the direction where he had felt the Orb. His pulse quickened as he neared it, the air growing colder and heavier with each step. The chamber seemed to stretch endlessly, shadows dancing on the walls like malevolent spirits. His breath came in short, sharp bursts, the anticipation gnaw
But much to his shock, he was not attacked. Rather, everywhere was calm, making him frown. Still, he walked forward, his steps echoing in the eerie silence of the grand hall. Stepping into the palace, he felt a sense of warmth overcome him, as though he had just arrived home, and this made him anxious. The warmth was unexpected, he hadn't felt this warmth in a long time. The last time he felt this warm was at the garden when the Orb was still there and this thought unsettled him deeply. He had expected more creatures, resistance, a fight, or at the very least, Mage breaker or the King of hell. Storm thought about the King of hell and what he would look like. He wondered why he didn't have a better name instead of the King of hell, he also thought about the Magebreaker. Where they working together? Storm wasn't sure but he hadn't seen the Magebreaker since and he definitely knew he had to fight the Magebreaker too. Storm looked around still expecting creatures to come out of anywhere
Three days later, a disorganized Storm stood at the edge of the forest, his eyes fixed on a huge palace in the distance. The palace didn't look anything like the realm, it looked too perfect, not a single thing missing from it, its grand spires piercing the sky, and its massive walls adorned with intricate carvings and ceiling to floor windows. The surrounding area was like a garden, it had beautiful flowers surrounding it with winding paths leading up to the palace gates. Even though Storm was disheveled and looking wretched, his clothes torn and dirt-streaked, there was a fire in his eyes, an undeniable energy coursing through his veins. His life over the past three days took a toll on him but his determination hadn't changed. As he stood there, catching his breath, he couldn't help but think about everything he had been through and what he had endured. The forest around him was alive with the sounds of chirping birds and rustling leaves, a stark contrast to the violence he had face
Just as Lillian left, Storm sighed and began his journey, heading directly to the palace. He looked around the realm and sighed again, he thought about all that he would have to fight before getting to the palace. Storm looked around and only noticed the hooting owls sitting on dead trees. They stared at him wide-eyed as he passed, this made his skin crawl. He stared at the tall mountains that seemed to mock him. He knew the palace would be on the other side of the mountain and this made him even more worried, he would have to fight a lot of creatures before getting there. Storm thought about all his friends, he had to do this for them. His thoughts shifted to his family, why did they keep a book about the orb in the library if they didn't want anyone to find it? Storm had never met his parents, they died when he was only a child so he didn't have any memories of them, just his grandfather. His grandfather had always told him he was stronger than he thought, he never believed him but
