The car glided down the quiet road, the engine's sound soft. Vivian drove carefully while Gaston sat beside her, still looking confused.

"Put on your seatbelt!" Vivian called out, glancing at him briefly.

"Yeah," Gaston replied, but he seemed hesitant, as if he didn't fully understand the instruction.

Vivian sighed and then helped him fasten his seatbelt. "Come on, you can't even do this?" she said in a sweet tone, though there was a hint of frustration in her voice.

Gaston just smiled foolishly. "If it weren't for Vivi, I wouldn't be able to do anything," he said innocently.

Vivian smiled at Gaston’s words. The car drove smoothly, and she felt at peace as she looked at the road lined with green trees.

As they pulled into the driveway, Vivian got out first, followed by Gaston. She noticed her mom's car parked in front of the door, and suspicion began to gnaw at her mind.

They walked side by side toward the front door. As soon as they opened it, they saw Rosaline, her mother, and Jonas, her brother, sitting in the living room.

“Mom? What are you doing here?” Vivian asked, eyeing her mother and brother suspiciously.

Rosaline looked at Gaston with a smirk before answering. “We just wanted to make sure this idiot is okay,” she said dismissively.

Gaston beamed. His mother-in-law clearly wanted to check if he was still alive or dead. They both were waiting for his demise. Too bad they failed.

“Pretty great, huh? I’m back!” Gaston exclaimed. “Mother-in-law, the car exploded, boom! Boom! But I’m alive. Ha-ha. The bomb didn’t kill me!” He clapped his hands.

Jonas stood with his arms crossed, looking at him in disgust. “What’s the point of bringing home a useless idiot like you?”

“Of course! Because he’s my husband!” Vivian defended him, her eyes blazing with anger.

Jonas scoffed, “I can’t believe you’ve put up with such a dumb husband for so long,” he said again, sarcasm dripping from his voice.

Vivian couldn’t hold back. “In my opinion, Jonas, you’re way dumber than Gaston!” Her retort further embarrassed Jonas. “Because of your stupid actions, our family lost ten million dollars!” she challenged.

Hearing this, Jonas stepped closer with ill intent. “You need to learn to watch your mouth, Vivian!” he threatened, trying to slap her.

But Gaston reflexively caught Jonas's hand before he could move further. He squeezed Jonas's hand tightly.

“Ouch!” Jonas winced in pain. “Hey, idiot! Are you trying to break my bones?”

Vivian was taken aback, seeing this serious and strong side of Gaston.

Rosaline, noticing the situation escalating, grabbed a vase from the table and swung it at Gaston.

However, Gaston’s quick reflexes kicked in, and he swiftly pulled Jonas aside, causing Rosaline to hit Jonas on the head with the vase instead.

“Mom, why did you hit my head?” Jonas shouted, showing his pained face.

Rosaline was furious with Gaston. “You little brat!”

“Why are you blaming Gaston?” Vivian protested, astonished.

“Because of this stupid son-in-law, I ended up hitting Jonas!” Rosaline pointed at Gaston in anger.

Gaston quickly reverted to his goofy demeanor, trying to divert attention. He wouldn’t let anyone hurt Vivian.

“I’ll take care of my Vivi!” Gaston said, moving closer to Vivian and holding her hand.

Jonas, still feeling the pain, complained while rubbing his head. “You’re such a useless jerk!” He said that to Gaston.

Gaston pretended not to understand. Jonas should be grateful that the brother-in-law he considered an idiot was still hiding his true strength. If that ever came out, Jonas’s hand would be shattered!

“Next time you dare touch Jonas with your dirty hands, I’ll kill you!” Rosaline yelled at Gaston, frustration pouring out.

Vivian felt dizzy listening to all the fighting. “Mom, if you guys came here just to cause trouble, you might as well leave!” she shouted, trying to calm the situation.

Rosaline lifted her chin slightly. Yesterday, she failed to get rid of Gaston, and this time, her plan couldn’t fail.

“Vivian, you have to attend Wilson Huber's party!”

“I already have a husband!” Vivian asserted. She knew her mother’s intention was to introduce her to another man.

Rosaline pushed back, “He’s just a husband on paper! You need to go!”

The debate heated up, and Jonas chimed in. “You should go, Vivian. Don’t let Gaston hold you back!”

Even though Vivian knew Gaston was foolish, Jonas’s words could hurt her husband’s feelings.

“Gaston, you need to go to your room!” Vivian ordered.

Gaston whined in protest. “I want to stay here with you, Vivi!”

“Go to your room!” Vivian commanded again, this time looking very serious. Not wanting to make his wife angry, Gaston finally obeyed.

He walked to his room and closed the door. The argument between them continued.

“I don’t want to hear it!” Rosaline insisted. “You have to go and fulfill that invitation.”

“I’ll ask Gaston for permission!” Vivian finally gave in.

“Why ask for permission? Your husband is an idiot! He won’t understand what you’re saying!” Jonas shot back.

Gaston heard all their nonsense. He clenched his fists, holding back his emotions.

Vivian felt overwhelmed. “Please, just leave!” she said, almost pleading.

Rosaline reminded her, “You have to be there, Vivian!”

“I’ll think about it!” Vivian replied firmly.

After a while, they left, their footsteps fading away. Vivian then returned to the bedroom.

When Vivian entered, Gaston was lying on the bed, hugging a pillow with a sulky expression.

“I’m sorry for yelling at you, Gaston,” Vivian apologized, sitting on the edge of the bed.

Gaston quickly forgave her, as if he were a child who held no grudges. “It’s okay, Vivi,” he said innocently.

Vivian took a deep breath, trying to calm herself.

“Why are you sad?” Gaston asked.

“It’s nothing,” Vivian replied, but her eyes were still focused on him with concern.

Gaston smiled, feeling warmth in his heart. “You’re really beautiful,” he said sincerely.

Suddenly, Vivian took a deep breath and said, “Tonight, we should sleep together.”

Gaston swallowed, surprised. He wasn’t a fool anymore. He was normal now, even strong. If they slept together, he might not be able to resist.

He might end up touching Vivian, being with her like a normal man. Especially since she was so beautiful.

“Do you want to sleep with me?” he asked.

“Sleep together?” she replied, confused, not sure how to react.
