Damian couldn’t understand why the man in front of him wanted to be seen as a fool. While he was still thinking, Gaston seemed to lose interest in small talk.

“You can contact your family, right?” Gaston asked. “I’m leaving!”

Damian still felt pain coursing through his body as he quickly rose to stop Gaston from leaving. Inside, that pain only strengthened his resolve not to let the man in front of him walk away so easily.

“Master, wait!” he called out, his voice filled with both hope and fear.

Gaston’s expression turned to one of surprise. He furrowed his brow, as if he couldn’t believe the title. “Master? Can I call you that?” he asked, skepticism lacing his tone.

“I think that’s a bit much, Mr. Wagner,” Damian replied weakly, but with unwavering conviction.

“No. That’s fitting,” Gaston retorted, still looking bewildered by the sudden shift in the situation.

With trembling hands, Damian pulled a black card from his suit pocket. The card glimmered under the dim clinic lights, displaying his name and invaluable identity. “This is my identification,” he said, handing the card over to Gaston.

Gaston’s eyes widened as he read the name on the card. The man he had just helped was the son of a renowned global businessman, famously known as the “God of Wealth.” In an instant, a new understanding of who Damian was flooded his mind. He was taken aback but didn’t want to reveal his astonishment.

Damian instinctively sensed that Gaston was no ordinary man. There was something deeper within this man, something that set him apart from others. “I want to offer you a job,” Damian said, trying to sound convincing.

Gaston looked at him seriously. “In return, I’ll pay well,” he added, attempting to offer something that would catch the man’s attention.

But Gaston gently returned the business card. “Believe me, money isn’t that useful to me,” he said, his tone calm yet firm. “I’m not even sure how long my abilities will last.”

Damian felt that his offer could be very beneficial to Gaston. “You just need to say what you want,” he urged, trying to persuade him.

“You seem pretty wealthy,” Gaston replied, raising an eyebrow as he considered Damian's proposal.

Damian indeed was wealthy. His fortune was not merely material possessions, but a vast inheritance from his family, known as one of the nine leaders of the God of Wealth. His family had amassed wealth over generations, investing in various lucrative fields ranging from real estate and technology to finance.

As an heir, Damian not only inherited a substantial amount of assets but also a wide network and significant influence in the business world. In his wallet, he had credit cards with unlimited limits and a bank account with figures that most people would find unimaginable. He owned several luxury properties in prime locations, including a skyscraper in the city center, a seaside villa, and a penthouse apartment with breathtaking views.

This wealth also made him a prime target for many who sought to exploit his position. However, Damian was always cautious about who he surrounded himself with. He knew that behind the luxury and power lay risks that needed to be managed.

As the heir of the God of Wealth, Damian also had access to information and resources unavailable to ordinary people. He could leverage his family’s business network for market intelligence, investment opportunities, and even access to the latest technology.

“I can offer you a lot of money,” Damian said hopefully.

However, Gaston thought for a moment. “My wife would be suspicious if I suddenly had a lot of money,” he replied. For years, Gaston had lived as a fool. Vivian would surely be shocked. He could imagine her questioning the source of that wealth.

“Where did you get this money? Are you involved in things you shouldn't be?” Gaston could already picture the questions Vivian would ask, always suspicious of sudden changes in their lives.

Damian didn’t give up. “What if we partnered up?” he suggested, trying to find a middle ground.

“What kind of cooperation?” Gaston asked, still skeptical.

“You help me, and I’ll dedicate myself to you. Whatever you need or want, I’m ready to assist,” Damian replied enthusiastically.

He continued, “My forces are vast. My family is one of the nine leaders of the God of Wealth. There’s no downside to teaming up with me.”

Gaston fell silent, contemplating this intriguing offer. “That’s an interesting proposal,” he finally said. “But what kind of cooperation are you looking for?”

“I want you to use your powers to investigate who the traitor is in my father’s group!” Damian stated, laying out his clear objective.

“How would that work?” Gaston asked, feeling both curious and skeptical.

Damian knew well that Gaston’s hearing was extraordinary. “I need your natural abilities!”

“How did you guess that?” Gaston asked, surprised.

“Because when I was being tortured, the location was quite far and isolated. You ran from a distance to find me. What else would you call it but extraordinary hearing?” Damian explained, showcasing his sharp analysis.

Gaston smiled. “That’s a good analysis,” he said, appreciating Damian’s insight.

“I have to go. My wife must be worried if I’m gone too long.”

Dimitri was still waiting to see whether his offer would be accepted.

Gaston carefully tucked away Damian’s business card. “By the way, I’m ready to cooperate,” he said, giving a positive signal.

“Thank you,” Damian replied, feeling relieved and excited as Gaston prepared to leave the quiet clinic.

Gaston returned home with mixed feelings. As soon as he opened the door, he was greeted by Vivian, his wife, who threw a pot lid at him.

Gaston was taken aback, instinctively dodging the projectile that suddenly flew his way. “Where have you been?!” Vivian shouted.
