Chapter Eighty-Three

Milton felt Lucinda’s eyes boring into his back. Knowing what Lucinda would say, Milton ignored her.

He asked the servants to continue with their work after serving the meals, but from the looks of things, those words entered Lucinda’s right ear and left through the left ear.

Clink!

“Oh, Master Jackson, let me get that for you.” Lucinda practically ran to Milton.

Milton leaned back and watched Lucinda pick up the spoon, then handed him another one. “Sir,” Lucinda said, taking a step back.

“Space, Lucinda,” Milton uttered.

“Well, look around us, space and space. No?”

Bemused, Milton shook his head. He couldn’t win and he knew it. Munching on his breakfast, toast, and coffee, he was glad Lucinda didn’t strike up any conversation.

Engrossed, he didn’t hear his uncle exiting.
