Perhaps he was mean to Simone and shouldn’t have responded the way he had. But what was he supposed to say when he was glad he hasn't thought of Samantha for hours?

The waiter spoke so loud that Tiwari and the other customers heard him.

Unfortunately, the minutes he used to come to where Milton was, was enough for the waiter to tell Milton what was on his mind.

“We get tired as you do. We expect respect as you do. Being a second-hand-in command doesn’t give you the right to yell at people like her. Like us. Do you think she wants to work with someone like you?” The waiter asked, his hand holding the edge of the table so tight.

Simone seeing that, leaned forward and whispered, “Sir, we are having a friendly conversation. You misunderstood the situation.”

The waiter slapped a hand over Simone, “Hush dear, I am here for you. I will protect you although we are strangers.”

Milton gaped. The waiter continued, narrowing his eyes at Milto
