Chapter Thirty-Eight

Milton finished the last proposal he had been reading for the past hour. Everything was splendid. From the product selection to the targeted market. He couldn’t help but wonder why all this time, the proposals were untouched.

“For the love of craps, what the hell are you doing here?”

“This is the family’s study. I can be here when I want.”

“No. It doesn’t work that way. One person at a time. Get lost, asshole.”

Milton swirled his chair around. Bryson’s hair was disheveled. His eyes were bloody red. He looked exhausted. Milton’s eyes went to the clock above the door. “Are you okay?”

Instead of answering, Bryson slapped the papers from Milton’s hands. They splattered all over the study room.

Milton picked them while wondering why his cousin despised him that much. Wasn’t family supposed to love you dearly even though you didn’t know each other a few moments ago? He has been nothing but good. Hell, he didn’t throw tantrums after Uncle Rogers and Bryson played him.
