Even though Mollie had left Ross’ house, she was still feeling anxious. She had spoken confidently with Jude that she would go to the police, but she already knew that the police wouldn’t care.

“Let’s go to the police station,” she told Ulmer.

“If there’s an honest cop, then they will take our side,” she replied.
