Ulmer finished reading Ayana’s book for the tenth time overall.

Abbie asked him for the book, but he sent it into the inventory.

“Would your heart stop if I start reading it?” Abbie hissed. “Or is that not a fiction book but a pervert magazine, and you’re embarrassed to show it to me?”

“Think whatever you want. I don’t care,” Ulmer closed his eyes. “Just don’t go into the fridge again.”

“You’re so rude!” she kept hissing. “All men are like this. That’s why women are divorcing men these days!”

“Go to some random school, and you’d see boys giving flowers to girls and sharing lunch with them,” Ulmer said, opening one of his eyes and looking at her. “I did something like that when I was in school, too. But as I grew up, I realized that the chicks chase after the men who don’t give them any attention and treat them like trash. Not all chicks are like that, but many are like that. They chase their feelings. One of my sisters broke up with her boyfriend because she wasn’t feeling it with him
