A stunned hush fell over the room.

But it was not shock; rather, it was mockery and derision. Robert Brown could never have imagined that his quest for fame would instead end with him kneeling in disgrace before a crowd, humiliated in front of so many important figures.

He was mortified, indignant, resentful. His teeth ground together as he cursed Jason inwardly.

That bastard, that scoundrel!

Jason's eyebrows rose as he gazed down at the kneeling Robert Brown. In a calm tone, he asked, "Young Master Brown, do you understand where you went wrong? How did you err? Why did you make this mistake?"

"Answer me. Give me a satisfactory response."

Of course, he did not actually care about Robert Brown at all. To him, the man was merely a clown. But now that things had reached this point, Jason saw no harm in teaching him a lesson.

Susan was far too kind. As a result, Robert Brown, Margaret Brown and others like them felt free to be jealous, bully her, and constantly make trouble.
