Chapter 31: Slander
Faced with Susan's suspicious look, Jason simply smiled and said, "Trust me. Just say that when we go to see Grandfather tomorrow. Leave the rest to me."

"You should also prepare for the project presentation. Kevin Jackson will transfer the compensation money to your account."

After hearing this, Susan's face twisted in bewilderment. She felt like something major had happened today - Kevin Jackson and those other people who showed up at the end didn't seem like good news.

Could it really be smoothed over that easily? If so, it would be a relief.

In the evening, figuring it was about time, Robert Brown called Kevin Jackson, but no one answered. He was taken aback for a moment before breaking into a wicked grin. It looked like Kevin wasn't finished yet - that petite Susan better not be wrecked too badly.

He called Margaret as well, telling her it was just about done, that Susan was basically finished. Come tomorrow, it would be the day Susan's reputation went down in flames.
