Chapter 14 - Award Ceremony III

The MC took the mic. The moment that everyone had been waiting for has arrived. "And the winner for this year Best actress award is..... Claudia Kingston!" He announced.

There was a loud cheer from the crowd. Claudia got up and started to walk to the stage. She was really happy. She had really gotten the award in the end.

Claudia walked to the stage to collect her award. Finally, after so much hard work, she was finally to achieve her dream. She got the best actress award that she so much wanted.... nothing could make her more happy right now. She felt like she was floating on the Skys. She suddenly did not care about that idoit CEO messing with her or that annoying reporter asking her so many questions earlier.

When Claudia was handed the award, she was asked to make a speech.

"Well, I won't say that I am surprised that I got this award. I've been working hard for this for a really long time. I think that my hard work payed off. I'm really very happy right now. Also, I would like to thank everyone who has supported me through my career" Claudia said.

Down stage, Rose could not resist the urge to slap her hand on her forehead. What really is wrong with Claudia? Does she have to be so narcissistic? She isn't supprised? She worked hard for it? Since she is such an amazing actress, she should know how to put on a show right? What really is wrong with her?

Since the award ceremony was pretty much done, there was no need for Claudia to continue to stand on stage.

She walked down and Rose immediately came to her.

"You really did win the award Claudia. This is great!" Rose said.

"Of course. What did you think was going to happen? I'm Claudia after all." Claudia said.

Rose sighed. Fine it was her fault to expect anything from her. "You are going to stay behind for the after party right? You will get the chance to meet many directors if you stay" Rose said. She sounded like she was trying to convince Claudia to stay. There was no telling what she would do anyway.

"Do I really need to do that? I'm Claudia. Do I still need to suck up to some people?" Claudia asked.

Rose felt like anyone who had high blood pressure would pass out from listening to Claudia.

"But you still need to go. After all, you are the one who won the award today" Rose said.

Claudia who was in a really good mood because of the award decided to just go. It won't be too bad anyway. Since she won the award, she should at least show it off right? "Alright. Let's wait for that. After all, I won the award today. I'm going to show it off" Claudia said. She believed that there was no need to put in so much effort if she could not show it off.

However....she would end up regretting the decision by the time the party was over.......

"I've already confirmed Mr Raymond. Claudia is going to stay back for the after party" His assistant, Davis said.

Raymond smiled. It turned out that they did not come to this place for nothing. "What are you waiting for then? Let's go" He said. He came all the way here to see Claudia. From what he had observed from her when they met, she won't meet up with him if she asks her to. He felt angry that he Raymond had to go to such lenghts just to see some actress but it would all be worth it when he gets her in the end anyway. He already promised himself that he was going to make her pay for reducing him to this.

Richardwalked around the hall that had been rented out for the after party. He had to admit, that he really hated these kind of places. He would not have come if he did not need to teach that Claudia a lesson and put her in her place.

"I really didn't think that you were actually going to come. Tell me Ryder. What do you want to do?" Matt asked. He had stuck to Richardever since they arrived here. He did not want to cause any trouble for Claudia. He would only be affecting thier company then.

"What do you mean by why I'm here? I'm the CEO of Healian Entertainment. I just want to see how these things work" Richardsaid.

Matt snorted. Like he would ever believe that.

"So that woman won the award?" Richardasked. It didn't seem like he was looking for an answer from Matt. Rather, he looked like he was talking to himself.

But still, Matt could not help replying him. After all, she is an actress from thier company. He could not help but feel proud for he achievements.

"Yes. Don't you think that it's great? Claudia is really talented" Matt said.

Richardsnorted. Matt seemed to be full of praises whenever he talked about her. "Why are you always praising that woman? I really don't think that she's that good. She's arrogant and she doesn't know her place!" Richardsaid.

It was Matt's turn to snort. "You are the only one who thinks that she isn't good"

"I really don't understand how a person can like that can win the award. What is wrong with the entertainment industry these days?" Richardasked.

Matt looked at him. If he puts it like that, then isn't he making fun of his own company too? He suddenly felt like he could not continue to talk with this person anymore. He felt like he was going to lose his mind. Matt decided to choose the easiest way out. The award already finished anyway. He won't be able to do much now.

"I really can't talk to you. I'm going to talk a way around" Matt said and walked away from his friend.

Richardsmiled as he watched him leave. He turned to leave. He could finally do whatever he wanted now without that annoying Matt following him around.

He had barely taken a few steps when someone walked into him.

"Hey do you have eyes on top your head? Can't you watch where you are going?!" Richardyelled. He was really irritated.

Marisa was really upset. She had come to this place because she wanted to see the woman who made Richardbreak up with her but she couldn't even get a glimpse of her besides that time when she went to collect the award. And now she walked into someone. She was feeling really angry. "I'm really sorry. I'm sorry I..." Marisa stopped her apology when she saw who she walked in. How is it him?

"Ryder, you are here too?" Marisa asked. Her mood suddenly brightened up. She thought that she was really stupid got coming here in the first place but it turned out that her coming wasn't completely useless. She could meet Ryder!

Richardlooked at the woman in front of him. It was the woman he broke up with a few days ago. He would have forgotten about her if it wasn't for the fact that she was the main reason he got into this situation in the first place. If she had not asked for his car, he won't have run into that woman.

"It's you again! What are you doing here?" Richardasked. He did not see any reason to be polite to her. Didn't the both of them already part ways on good terms?

Marisa who was feeling unreconciled with the breakup........

Marisa wasn't expecting Richardto be this cold to her. He was always nice to her when they were dating, how did he end up changing in just a few days?

"I have a right to be here. Anyway that doesn't matter. It's really good to run into you here" Marisa said. She was already thinking about how she was going to start a conversation with him.

"I don't think it's good. Anyway, bye. You and I don't have any reason to see each other anymore" Richardsaid.

Marisa was really surprised. It felt like Richardwas a completely different person. She felt like she did not know him in the time that they dated at all. Was it because they were only together for less than a month? His cold attitude made Marisa want to have him even more.

"Ryder, I heard about you and Claudia Kingston. Is it really true?" Marisa asked. She felt like there was no need to beat around the bush.

"What does it have to do with you? The both of us already broke up. What I do with whoever else has nothing to do with you anymore" Richardsaid. He really hated women like this the most. The both of them already broke up. Why is she pestering him?

"So it's true then. Did you cheat on me with me? Did she take my boyfriend away from me?" Marisa asked.

Richardshook his head. Marisa really is thinking all kinds of things on her own. "What nonsense are you talking about? Your boyfriend? The both of us already broke up. You really should not make things difficult" Richardsaid.

"But I don't want to break up with you! I really don't want to leave you Ryder" Marisa said. Her voice was hoarse right now, like she was holding back tears.

"What do you want Marisa? You already took my car when we broke up. What else do you want for you to leave me alone?" Richardasked.

"I don't want anything Ryder. I don't want anything from you. I'll return the car. I just want to be with you. I love you Ryder!"

Richardalmost choked on his spit. "What?!"

Claudia wasn't having an easy time either. Because she had just won the award, lots of people kept trying to suck up to her. She found it really annoying and so she walked away from the majority of the people, leaving Rose to deal with him then for her.

She had come to the back to get some fresh air when she ran into someone she thought that she would never see again.

Claudia was prepared to ignore him. If it wasn't for her meeting this person, she would never have to run into that Ryder!

But it seemed like he did not want to ignore her though. He actually walked up to her.

"What do you want from me?" Claudia asked. She was really starting to doubt her mother's taste in men. How can she set her up with someone like this?

"I want to know one thing. Are you going out with that Ryder? Is that the reason your rejected me?" Raymond asked Claudia. He could not believe it. He had never been rejected in his life. He has lots of women chasing after him. From daughters of socialites to all kinds of celebrities, but why does this woman treat him like he doesn't exist? He just did not understand it.

"It's none of your business!" Claudia snapped. She was never someone with a lot of patience anyway.

"What do you mean? You and I went on a blind date and......" Raymond did not get the chance to finish.

"That's right Mr Campbell. You and I did go on a blind date. For someone who went on just one bad date with me, don't you think that you are going too far right now? My personal business is frankly none of your business" Claudia said. This conversation really made her angry.

Raymond could not hold back his anger anymore. "What do you really think that you are Claudia? Do you think that you can look down on me because you are some celebrity? I can understand why your mother has to set up blind dates for you even though you are so successful. It's because you have such a bad attitude! At this rate, you'll be left on the shelf!" Raymond said.

Claudia was really angry now. But even more than that, she was red from embarrassment. She had never cared about her marital life anyway. She wasn't bothered about that. She had a lot of money, why did she need someone else in her life? But still, hearing someone else taunt her like this, she was really embarrassed

"I don't see how that is any of your business!"

"Really? Just admit it. There's no one else who wants you because of your attitude! As long as you apologise to me for your previous attitude, I'll forgive you and consider going out with you! Don't forget Claudia. I'm doing your a favour here!" Raymond said.

Claudia felt like this man was completely unreasonable. Doing her a favour? What a joke!

"I don't need you to do me favours! I don't want to be with someone like you!" Claudia said.

"You won't find someone like me anywhere. Just accept the fact she come to me now!" Raymond said.

"Who told you that? Why the hell are you harrasing my girlfriend here?!"
