Chapter 1

"You are so stupid. I've told you repeatedly that you should do well. You're now making a mess of this place." Ted put down the document in front of him. He stared at the man who looked so useless in front of him.

He wanted to get all the work done, but this subordinate in front of him was stupid and making mistakes repeatedly.

"Sir Ted, it wasn't me who messed up the paperwork..." Tristan tried to explain.

The paperwork held by Ted was not his, and he had never even gotten the job. Beside Tristan, two men were holding back their smiles. Tristan could tell that they were holding back smiles and mocking him.

"Sir, he did it. He's been stupid for a long time. His brain is probably made of horse dung, so he's from the lower classes."

Martin looked at Tristan with a condescending look in his eyes. He was Tristan's senior at work, having entered the sales company before Tristan, whom he disliked. The first time Trista worked here, he immediately received praise, which infuriated Martin, because he often received the wrath of the leaders here.

"Ted, I noticed that he often calls women. He flirts with them and says nonsense. He's undisciplined and useless. Aaa, he's such a disgrace, even though he's a poor, useless man."

Walter waved his hands. He had a small grin that Tristan could see. The relationship between the three could have been better, not because Tristan started this fight but because Walter and Martin started it. Walter was friends with Martin, and Walter was Ted's cousin, which meant he would be defended by Ted. When Martin says nonsense to attack Tristan, Walter is very happy to support him.

He likes others to look low and embarrassed. And seeing Tristan's face, which looked more handsome than him, made him so angry. Poor people shouldn't be that arrogant in front of him.

Ted threw the place document at Tristan's head. His high voice was deliberately made to humiliate Tristan in front of the people working in this sales team room.

"You stupid man! You can't even sell a single unit, you'll get another cut for your stupidity. You should learn from Martin or Walter, they're so good at their jobs compared to you."

Tristan looked at Ted, straight and calm which Ted didn't like until the man roughly pushed Tristan's body to the floor.

"What are you looking at? You should be ashamed of yourself for being such a bum. Even a dog would do better than you. How embarrassing is that bastard." Ted stomped on Tristan's foot, but Tristan didn't let up.

"I didn't do the paperwork, and the paperwork you're praising I did, sir." Tristan looked at Ted and then at Walter and Martin, who were now angrier than ever.

"What did you say?" Martin shouted. He didn't want to get a bad name because of this lowly man's words. He looked around, and people seemed to be whispering, and he had to act now.

"Walter, you remember that this man is very bad. He often steals other people's ideas for himself and he likes to embezzle this company's money."

Martin lied. He made it up easily because it was actually Martin and Walter who did it all. They enjoyed the money to pay women and have fun with them.

"I never did that. You did."

Martin and Walter laughed mockingly. Ted, who was there, was watching but with an angry face.

"Marin and I are from well-off families, we came here by car not like you on foot. You must want to live like us, right? You want to be able to have a fancy lunch like us while you're a poor, lowly, stupid, and deceitful person! You can't do that on your own."

Walter's words now had the people there buying them.

"I know he's from a non-famous college, he's such a disgrace to be a thief."

A short-haired woman glanced at Tristan sarcastically.

"Then we should check all our belongings, he could commit another theft and it's scary too."

"What a thief. He's so shameless."

The three men bullying Tristan looked very happy with the people who had bad thoughts about Tristan.

Tristan was finally able to stand up even though the heat was painful. He looked at the three of them with angry eyes. He got the job here by doing a lot of tough tests because he came from a non-famous college. When he got in, it was like a miracle. However, it seemed that he was still the lousy person here but couldn't accept being accused of being a thief. Even Ted, appointed as the sales department manager, often deducted money from his salary, leaving him with half his salary. Tristan endured all this to survive. He clenched his fists.

"I never stole any money at all. It's you three who seem to do that." Tristan said it in a harsh voice, and the three men who hated him immediately came forward and pushed his body roughly.

"This son of a bitch! He's talking rubbish!" Martin cursed, and he raised his hand. He slapped Tristan's cheek.

He dodges, but unfortunately, she gets hit by Ted and Walter. Pain appeared all over his body. He tried to protect himself.

"You thief, you scum that can't turn into anything."

"What a shameful thief. Even dogs will obey if fed, you're worse than a dog!"

They pushed Tristan more violently than before, and it made Tristan feel the urge to protect himself. That's when he raised his hand and gave a fist without being able to see who was punching.

"You!"

The sound of a large shout made every one pause. It was Tristan's year that he punched Ted. The man looked at Tristan sharply.

"You piece of trash! You're fired from here without a couple ounces! Nobody's going to hire an idiot like you, you son of a bitch!"

Just like that, Tristan's job that he had gotten with difficulty ended very easily because of people who didn't like him. Now he was at the riverbank drinking the beer he had in his hand. He gazed at the river reflecting the afternoon sunlight.

"I'm so useless... so stupid... how can I live this month? I only have 15$ and I've learned 10$..."

Tristan was a little drunk. He chuckled and then fell silent. The tightness in his chest made him squeeze the can so hard.

"I'm good for nothing... I don't have any skills and am just an orphan... maybe I should catch up with my parents soon."

Tristan dropped his drink can unceremoniously, then walked into the river, getting deeper and deeper. Eventually, the water reached his chin, past his mouth, and up his nose.

Her green eyes blinked a few times, staring at something in front of her like an illusion.

"Screen...?"

He remained motionless to read the message that appeared on the screen in front of him.
