Chapter 2 Visiting hell....

Alan POV...

Visiting hell...

I don't know what kind of weird challenge is this but I accepted it, not fighting battles, killing dangerous enemies, but begging and being a slave... it's even harder.

I left the palace and was asked to go as far as possible so that no one recognized me.

So I chose to wander around the border cities of my empire.

Whenever I find myself being criticized, I want to give up but those words of my old man echo in my ears, so I endure it.

It had been a year since I started my journey and I was unable to find a permanent place to stay till now, wherever I go, at a period, they misbehave, and to avoid killing them, I decide to leave...

In this one year, I noticed that I learned many things,

I learned how to sleep on the ground or the rocks etc wherever possible, I had never done that before though, I learned to ask for food, and that was the hardest one, I starved myself for more than a month to be able to learn how to beg for food.

After a year of experience, I can eat anything.

It's been more than a year, I don't know how that old man is doing, I never heard any gossip around me about the empire, maybe I am so far away.

Not beating anyone, even though you are being hit, ridiculed, and treated brutally, is the toughest part for a warrior, who speaks with his sword and gun.

" Can't he just pass on the throne, why creating this mess, to irritate me?"

I questioned myself confusingly, as I hadn't found anything yet, that was a benefit. but as I accepted the challenge, I had to face it and complete it no matter what.

A few days later, I was sleeping after a harsh day.

"Your Highness....!!" I heard a voice talking to me, I jolted from the rock I had been sleeping on, that called 'Your Highness' I heard it after a very long time.

I never expect anyone to recognize me when I am this far from the empire,

"Who...? Who's that?" I was startled in the dark, but the shadow looked familiar,

"Luis" I called for my attention, the only one who could visit me to inform me of important news, but the last I met him was about six months ago, why was he here? did something happen to the old man,

"Luis, is that you?" I asked confusingly,

"Yes Your Highness" he came near answering me, now under the streetlight, I was able to see his face, but he didn't seem very impressed with me, his eyes filled with grief, which made me panic,

"Is the King fine?" I hesitatingly inquired,

"Yes Your Highness, I am here on King's command to check on you,"

I was relieved that he was doing fine, but what did he just say?

"check on me?...and for what?" I exclaimed looking at him,

" It's not that, your father and the king were worried about you so they sent me to look after you secretly as how I used to do on the battlefield"

He was always with me, but I don't think that's a good idea now, I can't feed him now, I barely get to eat a meal a day, I can't feed him.

"Hey, do you think I am in a vocation?" I implored, he looked surprised and kneeled before me,

"no Your Highness, I won't disturb you, I will protect you securely, please don't reject my assistance" I know my father, he is more sentimental than my mother, if I sent him back, he will send someone else, but he won't sit idle, uhh.... but I don't want a surveillance camera around me, I need to escape from him,

I made up my mind but I couldn't do it right away, so I permitted him,

"ok... fine... help yourself, and stay away from me" he nodded his head and stood up,

"you can go now" I ordered him, but instead he sat on the rock beside me, I know it is not going to be easy, so I slept on the rock and he sat beside me,

After a while, he dozed off, and I got my chance to escape, There was a car standing in front of me and I hid in its trunk. It was quite comfortable inside it when they started driving so I slept. They drove it all night.

In the morning when I was awakened, I opened the trunk door to see where I was, I found the car in a different land, it was not at all familiar, I checked around if anybody was observing me, but there was none.

I got down and looked around, there were some people far from the car, I yawned and stretched out my hands and shoulders to free my muscles but when I saw inside the car, someone was sleeping inside or it looked more like someone was wrapped up in a blanket, I looked deeper with my hands covering the reflection on the window, I was right, a girl was wrapped in a blanket or a cloak, and her hands were tied with a rope,

"Hey, you..." someone shouted behind me,

a man came running to me and hit me with his leg,

"what the hell are you doing? you beggar, get the hell out of here, or I'll kill you" he yelled at me, my body was enough to kill him in one shot but I had to avoid the fight,

"I am sorry sir, I was just passing by, I didn't see anything" I explained and got up to get away from there, but what were they going to do with the girl?

I know that I should avoid fights but is this a fight to rescue someone,

"no Alan, it's none of your concern, just get out of here," I made myself clear,

I walked away as far as I could but found myself reluctant to move away, I have been roaming around in the same place,

"Uhh... I can't help it, but I will make sure, I will interfere only if she calls for help,"

I sat under a tree nearby, but there was no noise from that way, I waited for more than an hour, but it was nothing but silence,

"I think my mind was overthinking, I should leave them be," I got up to leave the place, and then I noticed another car coming that way, it was a big black wagon, that looked like a royal wagon, and that attracted my attention,

"What is going on?" I stopped where I was and observed what was going on there,

That royal wagon went straight to the car, and a man with elegant attire got down from it and commanded them.

Those people pulled her out of the car and kept her in the back seat of the wagon, he gave them a bag, may be filled with money, and the car left,

That girl was gaining consciousness, and I could hear her screams and struggling but when that man went inside, she stopped screaming, the girl was now sitting on the seat and listening to the man talk. They looked familiar to each other, he untied her.

Suddenly, several cars came rushing from every direction, and both of them panicked.

That was interesting just like an action movie, I thought of watching it to the end.

But they had guns and many other weapons with them. It was hard to escape from them, but I was hoping that she would call for help, as I fixed my mind on that,

"help...!!" finally a scream came out of that girl, I covered my face and confirmed,

"I am not getting involved in a fight, I am going to rescue someone who is in need,"

I was so happy, after a huge gap, I finally got a chance to warm myself up.
