Jim Anderson's phone rang after his outburst, interrupting his train of thought. He grunted and retrieved his phone, noticing that it was General Manager Carter's secretary on the line. After answering the call, the secretary's voice came through. "Manager Anderson, General Manager Carter wants to see you in his office," she revealed before abruptly ending the call.

Jim's brow furrowed, and he couldn't help but wonder about the connection between Jace heading to the general manager's office and the fact that he was also being summoned. The timing seemed too deliberate to be mere coincidence. What could possibly be happening?

Could it be that General Manager Carter shared the same concerns about Jace's performance in such a short time and wanted him fired too?

But Jace had been performing admirably, Jim had to admit. He had been diligent in his duties, so that couldn't be the reason.
