10. Appearance

"Where's that green hooded guy over there?"

Shortly, Orzo stopped their conversation and pointed his chin to the place where their enemy was fighting against Rosemare a few moments ago.

Widening his eyes slightly, Luke turned his head to follow Orzo's gaze. Then, he saw Rosemare had gone far away in a certain direction, as if chasing something.

"The guy was running away!" knitting his eyebrows, Luke turned his gaze back at Orzo and wanted to persuade him to go back to the safe place. But before he could say his intention, Orzo had picked up his weapon on the floor and said in a stern voice, "I can still fight."

"Don't be stupid! Go get a mirror and look at yourself! There's no way you-"

Before Luke could finish his sentence, an earthquake had taken place and the clouds in the sky were moving at such a fast speed that the changes were visible with naked eyes.

"Something is wrong. Have you known anything like this, Luke?" asked Orzo as he observed his surroundings with a wary look.

Froze in his place, Luke gazes widened more and more as he knows what all these changes signify. A massive amount of energy had transmitted into the wormhole gate and breached more of their planet's defense.

The Abominations that they had fought so far would only be on the bottom rank of the food chain. The energy to transport a bunch of them won't take much. But this time, to cause this much change in the surrounding weather and even an earthquake, the one that would come would be in a higher realm of the food chain than the fodder.

"Champion class…" muttered Luke as he clicked his tongue. If what they had fought before was just some guard dogs in war, this time what had come would be the real soldier but with a shabby weapon and equipment.

But one of these soldiers alone, although not much in the eyes of their kin, was not the enemy they would want to face at the moment.

'Not when we were in this cursed zone...'

In war, this disadvantage would be easily fixed by bringing over a heavy firepower or armoured vehicles, but they do not have any kind of those equipment at all.

"Change of plans," moving his gaze towards Orzo, Luke said with seriousness as he continued, "It's time for retreat. This is not the foe we could defeat by ourselves. Not when you are half dead and only me would be able to do the fighting."

"You!" Orzo's face became flushed as he heard Luke's comment of the half dead to him. Frowning, Orzo lashed back to Luke without a second thought, "Don't order me what to do, pisspot! I might be look like this, but I am-"

His words halted as both of them heard a loud boom in the distance. Soon, something flew towards their direction and fell to the distance between them. It was a Rosemare, with its body from waist below gone and its upper body broken everywhere.

"[Detec...ted.. Hu..ge.. Life.. force… dama.. Bzztt-! More than.. Bzztt-! Shut.. ting.. Down…]"

With its last word, its body becomes completely still and the lighting in its eyes become dimmed until they have completely disappeared.

Looking back at Orzo again, Luke stared hard at him as if he won't take the answer of a no this time, Luke said with a stern voice, "Change. Of. Plans!"

Gulping as he saw the state of Rosemare that had become a pile of scraps right now, Orzo nodded quietly and didn't say anything else.

Quickly, Luke went towards what's left of Rosemare and stored it in his space storage. With that done, he went to Orzo's side and helped him to fly to make their journey faster.

But as they were about to take off, a humanoid being stood right in front of them. The humanoid being was four meters tall and its upper body was filled with a burst of muscles. Its skin was in brownish colour, as they looked as rough as earth on the ground.

It didn't have any eyes or nose, but it had a big mouth with rows of sharp canine teeth and both of its arms were so long that they had reached its knees. There's some kind of big tentacles on its back, with each tip of the tentacles connected with a two meters long steel blade.

The creature was smiling at them. Showing its long and pointed rows of fangs, the creature spoke in their language inside of their mind, "*Hello, humans.*"

Realizing the being in front of them, Luke whispered at Orzo as their private intercom still connected, "Do you still have your core energy, Orzo?"

Squinting his eyes, Orzo replied immediately, "Yes. But do you think our combined force was enough to deal with it? Especially now that I only have one arm."

"It doesn't matter. It will be in guard position for a while. In the middle of our attack, you have to get away as far as possible, you got it?"

Widening his gaze, Orzo glanced at Luke and said, "But then you-"

"*Is it enough time for talking, humans?*" said the creature suddenly as it throw away the thing on his right hand, "*Because I'm getting bored.*

The thing rolled to the floor right near them. It was a severed head. But this time, it was the head of their enemies instead of an ally. The head belonged to a man with a green mask on his mouth. Both of his eyes were rolling backward completely and showed their whiteness, as if something had choked him to death.

"On my signal, I'll count to three, get ready." only giving the head a glance, Luke talked to Orzo again as both of his gauntlets disappeared and stretched out his unprotected arms, "One... Two…"

Following Luke's lead, Orzo switched off his armor's gauntlet function and pointed his open palm to the creature.

"Three!"
