Without another word, Miranda angrily jolted up and began to leave her parents’ presence.

“Miranda, are you walking out on us? We're not done here. I said, come back here.” Patricia barked but Miranda didn't listen to her.

"There's nothing more to talk about, Mom. I'm already so exhausted and don't want any more stress.” Miranda replied while making her way to the kitchen.

Liam was fixing dinner for them. He was making a pot of cheese pasta and beacon.

Miranda assisted him but said nothing to him. Liam understood her mood and didn't probe her to speak.

When Miranda walked into the kitchen, he expected his mother in-law to follow behind while nagging her. Surprisingly, she stayed back in the sitting room.

Just like Liam thought, Patricia had wanted to run after Miranda but her husband held her back.

When the couple were done in the kitchen, they made their way to the dinning hall to eat their simple dinner.

From where Liam sat, he lifted his head and saw Patricia's burning gaze on him.
