Arnold quickly rose from his kneeling position. He felt embarrassed by his actions. He’d knelt before Ethan. What a humiliating experience.

The whole family had seen him bow at the feet of a loser. That had to be the most terrible thing ever happening to him.

Ronan Rogers frowned as he saw his and Ethan's conversation. Arnold had let himself be mocked by the useless live-in son-in-law. He was pretty dissatisfied. He couldn't do anything, though, because it was a bet, and he believed in fairness. Arnold had utterly misjudged Cassie, and this was his retribution.
