This was Perhaps the most festive vessel Cecelia had ever seen in her life, She stood in front of the massive ship in awe.
The violet coloured carrier was shaped like an Oak tree, save the bark looked more crystal than wood, 'no it is crystal!' She thought as she stroked it's surface.
In place of Leaves small will o' wisp like flames that burned sapphire like Miss Eureka's eyes.
And at the Centre of the ship was a symbol.
It was a gloved hand bathed in Fire with an three eyes placed in it's centre.
The Fate Dealers, Captain Kross had called their clan, They ventured from Dimension to Dimension, making contacts with individuals capable of spinning them a profit long term.
The whole thing sounded a bit cult-ish to Cece but her Brother didn't seem to mind, infact he seemed.... off, Nothing fazed him.
Cece wondered what was going on in that mind of his.
"A beauty isn't she? Skipper my pride and joy!" Captain Kross boasted.
"She is... something? I don't know, I've never seen anything like her, that much I'll admit," Cece studied the ship.
"How did I miss this thing? I literally passed this route on my way back!" Her brother finally spoke.
the Captain chuckled, "Don't blame yourself, we only just got here a few moments ago, Once Lady Eureka finishes up the preparation we'll discuss our plans going forward,"
Cece moved closer to her brother and tried cheering him up but he gave her no reactions other than the ocassionally side smile.
Perhaps leaving their lives behind was too hasty? is that why he's down?
"Do you want us to stay instead? face the music?" she cupped his face in her hands.
He shook his head, "There's no way.... It just doesn't feel real yet, or am I being whiny?"
"You're probably being whiny," The Captain said.
Cece glared at him, the Captain snorted, "No need to be so uptight, I was the same way too during my time, infact you're the weird one here Cece, You're willing to move on too fast, maybe cuz of the Archives, huh?"
Cas'ears perked up, "What is that by the way? That thing, Celestial Archives?"
Cece flushed, "I-I'll tell you about that later, Look! Miss Eureka is done! let's go!"
The will o' wisps illuminated with such lively vigour , the roots twisted and contorted to form an oval shaped dome with a ball of purple fire in the middle.
One second they were admiring the ship and the next they found themselves within the vessel, Strapped to a couple of leathery chairs.
"How-"
"Short range teleportation, sorry we've already wasted some time in this dimension, the higher ups want us back," Miss Eureka explained.
The vessel was even bigger inside, There was a hallway leading to all sorts of doors, Cece made a mental note to take a tour of this place when she had the time.
It smelt like Jasmine and Honeysuckle and other flowers and herbs, It was strong too!
Cece wondered why the scent wasn't stuck on either of the Fate Dealers.
They Grey old shag carpets on the floor and the lights above them were a dull white shine.
"Don't worry you'll get yours soon enough, for now just hang tight!" The Captain roared.
Cece instinctively grabbed her twin's hand and squeezed tight.
A high pitched whistling sound could be heard in the background as Miss Eureka pulled down a lever, A dark red light enveloped them as the vessel rose and spend forward at high speeds.
Her stomach was a knot, her knees felt like twigs, her eyes watered and she tried her best not to scream.
She looked outside the windows and saw streams of light racing past them, some dark and some light.
The scenery reminded her of the Milky, Starry night, she felt a strange urge to touch it.
Eventually their speed subsided to a slow cruise and the Captain unbuckled his seat belt.
"W-What... what the hell was that?" Cas stuttered.
"It's called Veil crossing, we shift from 'a dimension' to 'the dimension' look!" the Captain pointed.
Cece followed his finger and saw an endless space filled with light and mirrors and other heavenly bodies.
She stared into one of the mirrors and saw a couple of men riding on horses, another mirror revealed a vessel sailing on the sea and another Dragon like creatures sailing through the skies.
"This place is called the 'In-between' or Infinite pitstops or Endless Trail or whatever people call it these days,"
"It's.... a dimension that leads to other dimensions?" Cece waved at mirrors.
"The Dimension, The Veil.... and those things are portals to other Dimensions, look Cas- oh..."
Her brother was seating down next to Miss Eureka, she seemed to be explaining to him how the ship operated.
Understandable since they'll have to do this by themselves one day.
"Where's the restroom? I need to tinkle,"
"Last door on the right!"
Cece did not go the last door on right.
She went to every other door first, She found herself in a music studio, a lab, a splendid looking kitchen, which she took the opportunity to rifle through the fridge to find some snacks, mostly chips really.
Finally she decided to use the restroom, the toilet was one of those self cleaning ones Cece saw on the telly.
She had just finished her tinkle when at that moment there was some turbulence.
She rushed back to the Deck of the ship to discover.
"A worm!?" It was the biggest worm she'd ever seen, the size of a sky scrapper, It glided next to their ship, bumping into it with it's sides.
"A Veil Rider, nasty things that can travel through dimensions like us, we're lucky, just one of them today!"
"what does it wanna do? eat us?"
"...."
"Are we gonna make it outta here alive?"
"Don't worry, your brother seems to get the hang of the controls already!"
"what!?"
She looked over and saw Cas, sitting on the pilot's seat, "Will he alright?"
"He's a natural," Eureka commented, "Besides we're not far from the EL-440, look we're there already,"
Cece saw what she pointed at, it was Purplish mirror with red veins streaming from the side.
On the other side stood a large facility, it's centre building reminded Cece of a gloved hand reaching out towards the sky, albeit it was the size of a skyscraper.
"Won't it follow us?"
"Veil riders have excellent memory! They know better than to attack at our Home base, Cas full speed ahead!"
"Gotcha!"
The whistling sound could be heard again, Cece didn't resist the urge to scream this time as she strapped herself to her seat.
She could hear The Captain laughing hysterically and Miss Eureka muttering some words.
Cece closed her eyes....
She opened them after a bump.
She found them in the middle of Forrest? no it was too thinly populated to be a proper Forrest besides the tress were made of Crystal too!
"Welcome to Pariah's Chariot!" The Captain roared.
Cece clutched her head in pain as she rose.
In the background she could hear Miss Eureka praising her Brother.
Cece leaned weakly against a wall.
"Easy... Easy.. You're not used to traveling yet, Don't worry that'll change once you undergo your training,"
"Lucky us...." Cece sighed.
"Oh Cecelia," Miss Eureka called.
"Yeah... I mean yes Ma'am," Cece wondered why she corrected herself.
"I'll be needing that thing in your bag,"
"What thing-"
"Don't make me repeat myself girl,"
Cece was taken aback, But she deemed it not wise to annoy Miss Eureka any further.
She fished out the item Miss Eureka had been suggesting, the mysterious damaged gun.
"Thank you kindly,"
"...eh, so now what?" Cas muttered
"Now we get you registered, Come on!"
Cas wiped his brow and took a deep breath to steady his nerves.'One, just one more,' he thought, as he set the tablet down onto the table. He had ran the simulation over and over, he was certain this was the perfect strategy needed for the securing a a city during a siege.A tall shadowy figure loomed over him, Judging him with his cold Silver eyes. The figure did not seem impressed, 'Your sister finished her's in 20 mins!' The man would probably say to Cas, 'You're too slow and too indecisive! Your Army would have died by then!' His trainer Victor, A man Cas could only describe as Cold... not just in the feeling sense, He was ice cold, Unmoving, Unfeeling, Unnerving.Victor was what Cas would learn to be known as, A Mind Wraith.Tall Dark Shapeless beings, that harvested lost energy from people's misery!Well not actual misery.... but that's exactly how Cas felt. These creatures had been his, Cece's and any poor fool who managed to make it this far. When Cas and Cece been introduc
Pancakes.....Strawberry, peaches and apples.Milkshake, Apple pie, Butterscotch ice cream and Pickles.1978 classic scotch, Octoberfest and That night In Harlem.Betty's first steps, Maria's favourite movie and The Great Gatsby!Memories... Fond memories, familiar tastes and alien sensations flooded into Cecelia's mind!'What a rush!' She had thought at the time, She could get to this feeling, this.... this...."I think I'm in love!" "....are you sure you're all right? we could go back to the nurse's-""I'm good.... besides it's like Miss Eureka said, it comes with becoming a dealer right? You'll understand once you pop your cherry too little brother!"".....why do you have to make it sound weird?"She shrugged."Cecelia... pay attention and you too Castor," Miss Eureka said, they were all standing in the centre of an open field that in passed as the Hanger for their ship. All around Them were various Crystals in the shape of trees, A Forrest of precious gems.Cece stroked the tree
'These beasts are relentless!' Cas thought as he maneuvered the ship into the lush green Forrest below them. The Veil riders hot on their tail slammed into trees as well. The pinkish red one got tangled up in the branches of Great red wood tree over 500 feet tall!It thrashed around helplessly causing the tree to collapse, as well as other trees surrounding it, the commotion causing nearby Forrest life to flee in terror. The beast was no trapped under a pile of crushed wood and broken stones, they dissolved and stuck close to it's body causing it to panick even more! The other Veil rider with a bluish hue to it's body was luckier than it's brethren, it landed a few metres behind their ship!Cas slowly rose, his bearings still disoriented from the crash, he made his way to his bag and fished out a baton. With a click to it's side it transformed into a translucent blue trident that sparked electricity ever so often, he grinned and made his way to the hatch.Cece rose to follow but-"No!
Cecelia shot her brother a playful smile as they rode their steed through the city, they were led by a Calgary of guards that treated the pair as VIP."My hero! I knew I was right when I accepted your proposal Castor!" She whispered in his ear.Her brother cringed, "If I let him move his hand any lower.... you would have broken it, wouldn't you?" "Oh.... well I was hoping he would! I wanted to see whether he'd still have that nasty ass smile on his disgusting pig face!"".... you're not alright Cece, I hope you know that?"She flicked his forehead. The twins had finished their inspection by the city guards, though they were curious about some of their items, They couldn't confiscate them, as the vale did not seem the a threat. The twins were surprised, they hadn't seen in the archives, the new security system the city employed, an invisible dome that pushed out entities that sought out mischief within the City. This info greatly pissed off Cecelia, as it meant the search was for noth
"They're called Dorian's fallen," Lord Gastard pointed towards the projection Arthur had conjured. In it stood a man decked out in a White suit of Armour with streams of green light glowing in the gaps between it.He had wires and cables sticking from his elbow to back to his head, pumping a strange Green fluid in and out of them.He had massive shoulder and leg armour, as well as He wore a griffon helmet and held a sword made of pure light! 'But something is off' Cas thought."That Armour.... it's too advanced for anything this realm is capable off," he pointed out, The dwarf.... Dorkus nodded."Aye... it has Turrets on it's shoulders and that gauntlet, it shapes light around it to form hard light tech, right?" The Giant spat, "What does that matter?""It matters because you twat, someone is obvious supplying them with tech this world isn't ready for," Jamie the Albino lady spoke, her voice cold as ice."Someone in your field, correct?" Lord Gastard sighed."Perhaps.... when so the
'Don't.... just don't,' Her brother's words echoed in her head as she strolled down the hallway of the gothic castle. He hadn't spoken to her since the then, what's worse is Eve the succubus kept glaring at her, She resisted the temptation to humour the demon.'I won't give him more reason to doubt me,' She promised herself. They had just finished their Games and were having supper with the Lord, Venison, Custard pie and other assortment of foods Cece didn't care for, They all tasted like Bile in her mouth, Cas' words really hit her hard. She zoned out through most of the meal, only ever glancing up once in a while at Dorkus' Bellow or Derrick's laughter, the two seemed to hit it off nicely, ' Dwarfs and Giants doing a Drinking Contest... how cliche,' She scanned her environment, taking in the gothic style of the room, The grinning Gargoyles that hung over the arches, The long dark fluffy curtains, the black oily walls, Dark,Dark and Dark all around her.'This man really likes his Bl
She remained Silent throughout their walk to the Courtyard, Saying nothing to her brother except the occasional glances. Castor felt a pinge of guilt in his chest, 'Was I too harsh on her earlier?' he thought, he opened his mouth to speak but something else caught his attention. "Yep.... I'm dropping out," Dorkus announced. The twins got to the courtyard in time to hear his decree, Everyone was either indifferent or pleased with his announcement, everyone but Gastard. 'Is this Jaime? if it is the lady knows how to work fast!' Castor eyed the White witch. "Why have you chosen to depart? Are agents of Reign all this unprofessional? Your warrior was doing pretty well too, Explain yourself!" "I Have received a better offer for my Warriors, All of them! There is no need for me to entertain these petty games.... No offence my lord but I'll be taking my leave now, cheers!" It was just a moment.... Just one moment but Cas spotted that shared look between Ella and Dorkus as he left, Cast
Cece and Cas had been summoned to the Gastard's Office by first light, They entered the chamber with their Cylinder and Spectre along with all sorts of ghastly looking tools for the Blood pact. 'My Baby really came in prepared' She thought as she stroked the curved glass dagger he had given her for the ritual. She looked around the room and noticed a book shelf filled with Ominous book titles such as 'Bane if Kings' and 'The Headless emperor last stand', She looked around and noticed more Gothic Aesthetics. From the skull shaped chair by his table to the Black walls that leaked red fluids, the entire thing was off putting for Cece. "Pass me the book!" Cas snapped her back to place, she was startled but she regained her composure and did as he said, passing him the brown leather book. Her brother chanted some words, mostly nonsensical rubbish, Gastard wouldn't know the difference, he was far too pleased to care. 'Look at him, He's beaming!' She thought looking at the lord when the
