Chapter 48

In the large living room in Springfield mansion stood Lisa and her mother Emily, Emily still held the phone to her ear while Lisa stood still, the room was dead-drop silent except for the sound of the tickling on the wall clock, each second seeming to last an eternity.

Lisa's face had become pale, her hands were trembling and her breath became shallow, she felt lost, adrift in a sea of confusion.

“No! It can't be! Harry would never do such a thing, this is a prank” She finally spoke after standing there for what felt like forever, and just then, Emily's phone rang again.

“Hello… Grandma” Emily managed to speak with her voice trembling.

“I want to see you and Lisa at Charles's house this minute” Grandma Maria spoke in a sad but authoritative tone and immediately ended the call.
