CHAPTER 57

The weather changed suddenly, with lightning and thunder. The dark clouds pressed down, causing a sense of oppression in the Mountains.

"I have a cave here that I run. Daniel and Zeke, follow me," said Logan. The two followed Logan to a cave halfway up the mountain. Outside, the storm raged, but inside it was quiet.

The luxury inside was no less than that of an emperor's temporary palace. There were three bedrooms, a living room, a bathroom, and a kitchen. The electricity was powered by hidden solar panels, which provided enough power for the cave. Any excess electricity was stored in a battery.

"Uncle Logan, when I led my men to capture you, were you worried that this place would be destroyed?" asked Daniel.

"Yes, Daniel. Can you guess how long I've been running this place?"

"About a year," Daniel guessed casually. "That's right, a little over a year. After running it for so long, I feel a sense of accomplishment," Logan replied.

As they spoke, it started pouring rain outside.
