23. A Ruined Dinner

"Are you sure that's your card? It's not stolen, right?" one of Blaire's friends asked again. Even though they had paid for all their meals, they still looked down on Javier.

"Stolen?" Javier laughed at the accusation.

"I don't come from a rich family like you but I would never think of stealing other people's things," Javier said firmly.

"Or is that Blaire's card? Blaire, why did you let your husband use your card to pay all of us?" They now asked Blaire who immediately shook her head vigorously.

"That card is not mine..."

"To be honest with us, you're ashamed that you've been paying for the whole time you've been married to him, right? That's too bad for you. I've given you advice not to marry him, but you're so stubborn and keep thinking about that worthless love."

"Love can't buy you anything you want." They continued to throw comments at Javier and Blaire.

"They're so shameless," Javier snorted to himself. He was desperate to prove to them and shut them up that he wasn't as poor
