49. The Traitor

“Wait!” Western stood up in front of the karaoke. He took the microphone and got the attention of their team. “We have other good news!” he shouted. “Our movie was nominated in every category at the movie festival!”

They all clapped and congratulated each other. Floyd was happy about the news and he decided to add more alcohol and food to their table.

“No one will go home not drunk tonight!”

“Yes!”

The room was once again filled with laughter and singing. Everyone was happy and delighted because of their achievement. Just being nominated was a big deal for them already. Meaning, they really did well.

Trace was happy for their team too. He should be proud of himself but he couldn’t do it. He felt it was not right for him to celebrate. He had wronged every person inside this room right now.

“Trace!” Floyd sat next to Trace. “Are you okay now?”

Trace frowned. “Yes. I am. Why shouldn’t I be okay?”

Floyd shrugged his shoulders. “You were not talking with me the last time.”
