Russell was eating breakfast the maid had made. “Rekha, please don’t pour this much oil when making the omelet. It’s so greasy.”

“But the frying pan is quite old, sir,” she softly complained. “If I don’t add enough oil, the omelet won’t come off the pan. Why don’t you just buy a new pan? The one we’re using is only 20 dollars, and Madam said it’s been more than ten years since we bought it. So, you should buy something that’s at least worth over 200 dollars if you want a quality product. If you just give me the money, I’ll buy one for you.”

Rekha was grinning happily because she was planning to buy a 100 dollar one and keep the rest of the money for herself.

“Not now. I’ll give you the money later,” Russell said and stood.

“Give me the plate, sir. I’ll wash it,” she insisted.

“No, thank you. I’m used to washing my plates,” he said. “Besides, you are being paid to work only for my mother, not me.”
