CHAPTER 209

Russell’s phone rang. It was Kyra calling.

“I’ll be outside,” William said and left.

Russell’s eyes lit up initially, but then he remembered just how many times he had called but received no response from Kyra. His ego told him to not answer, but his responsibility as her husband told him otherwise.

In the end, he answered the call. A few seconds of silence passed.

“Did you cry?” Kyra asked.

“No,” Russell softly but quickly responded. “I would be lying if I said I wasn’t frustrated, but I didn’t cry.”

“Your sister called me a few days back and told me how your father has treated you, and how you used to suffer a lot,” Kyra said, startling him. “She told me to not make you cry, but I was angry. That’s why I didn’t answer your calls. You know why I didn’t answer, right?”

“Yeah, I think I do.”

Kyra exhaled audibly. “I heard that you leased Tuna Waves?”

Russell’s eyes slightly widened. (How did she know about it already? Did William tell her?) “I did. I thought it’s something I should do.
