The sons of Teresa forcibly snatched Russell’s mobile, purse, and car keys, then pushed him out through the gate.

“Feast today. Famine tomorrow.”

“You shouldn’t have misused the luxury you’ve been given. Now,you are going to pay for your misdeeds.”

“Our mom told us to beat you and break your legs so it’ll be easier for you to beg on the streets, but we’re not that heartless. Just never try to contact our family, or that’ll be the day you will lose your legs, Russell.”

“Now, piss off.”

After warning, they went back into the building.

When things are difficult, Russell would usually either cry or ‘grin and bear it,’ but now he didn’t do either of those.

He still couldn’t believe that Kyra didn’t trust him and even slapped him in front of everyone, including his family. Not once but twice. Her slaps hurt far more than the time when Natasha had slapped him or when his father had hit him so many times. He had never been humiliated like this before.
