CHAPTER 341

The next afternoon.

Russell was sitting under a tree shade, just watching people go by. Nobody thought of him as homeless because of the costly suit he was wearing. Looking at people walking in pairs or groups most of the time, Russell felt strange.

He put his hand on his chest. “It feels empty inside, but it’s somehow heavy… Is this how Natasha also felt when she spent a few days on the street?” He then lightly smacked his head once. “Let’s not think about her right now.”

A middle-aged beggar came over and asked, “Can you spare a couple of coins so I don’t have to starve today, sir?” He looked to be forty-five years old.

Russell had the habit of putting some money in his pockets aside from putting it in the purse just in case he were to lose his purse. He took out those ten dollar bills and gave all of them to the beggar who happily thanked him and then sat down a few feet away from the bench.

That was the last bit of money Russell had, and he gave that away, too.
