CHAPTER 44

Origin Casino. The oldest casino in the city.

Derek had known about this casino well because it wasn’t too far from his house. Its owner Thomas Origins was a reputed gambler who would never send men after those who made good money in his casino, given no cheating was at play. And there were rumors that the cheaters would be thrown in the crocodile pool in the underground chambers of the casino.

The guards stopped Derek. “Do you have more than 100 dollars?”

Derek smiled and showed the cash he got. They silently moved away. He gave them a hundred dollars each, and they thanked him for it.

“If I win, I’ll pay you more on my way out,” Derek’s words strengthened their smiles.

At Russell’s house.

The party had already started at five in the evening. Hundreds of people from the neighborhood flocked and enjoyed all the exquisite delicacies. There were more than fifty varieties of dishes to choose from. Even the most prideful eaters wouldn’t be able to taste all the dishes.
