CHAPTER 67

The next morning.

The mobile alarm rang sharply at 6 AM, but Jessica was in too deep of a sleep; she didn’t even respond to the extremely loud noise her low-budget mobile made.

Russell, who was sitting on the opposite couch, was not at all feeling sleepy, even though he hadn’t slept all night.

He stopped the alarm and kept staring at Jessica.

He had been thinking for four hours straight on how to handle his relationship with her. If anything, these four hours made him realize just how precious Jessica’s existence was in his life. Even though he hadn’t met her often after he joined college, she always made time to come and meet him at his house, even though Jennifer and Arnold didn’t treat her well. Jennifer wouldn’t even treat Jessica as a guest, and she never once fed her sweets or even fruits. Still, Jennifer didn’t speak ill of them, even when Russell himself cursed his stepmother a few times.
