“No” Elise objected “You can’t tell me that something is not wrong with me and this kind of bad thing happens to me.” She felt her throat closing up as she spoke. Her voice was a bit raspy but it didn’t bother her.

She punched Richard’s arm as she remembered the satisfied look which the strange girl had thrown at her when Elise stumbled upon them at the club that morning.

Richard pulled her close and held her in place, “You need get a solid grip on yourself, Elise. The last time I checked, it feels lighter when one bad tomato leaves the basket. I mean, it’s way better and the right things begin to happen”

Elise sniffed and looked away from Richard’s face, trying to conceal the small smile that was now tugging at the corner of her twisted lips.

“What are you saying? What’s this new talk about tomatoes” She asked him, still facing the entrance of the house.

Richard chuckled, “I wasn’t actually referring to tomatoes” He threw his head back in laughter.
