Chapter Thirty Eight

Richard strolled into the school’s Compound, running his eyes all over the place in search of Elise’s car. Her mother had gotten a private driver for her and he wondered if she had come into school with the driver. His activities of the previous week were different because he was mostly meeting up with his grades by making it to class and doing assessments.

Now, he had an added responsibility ; looking after Elise. He strode into a shade that was behind the school’s business center. Several students hung around then in small circles, talking and laughing loudly

The shade was an old tree with large branches that stretched outwards and provided shelter from the sun while the seats under the shade were all cemented and hard. Richard found one that was not surrounded by other people and he plopped down on it. He slipped out his phone and was about to call Elise but he held himself back and placed his phone in the pocket of his shirt.
