Amora was shocked by the situation. She rounded her eyes to see several policemen seemingly handcuffing her uncle and cousin's hands.

"Why are they handcuffed?"

Some time ago, Amora had just arrived at the gate of Liana's house. The woman looked nervous and hesitant to take a step. She was still on the fence.

Occasionally Amora squeezed her hands as she exhaled, trying to strengthen herself. She repeatedly convinced herself that she could do it.

Amora's gaze focused on Liana's house. "Whatever happens later, I have to be strong to face it."

She didn't want to come here at first, but knowing Blake hadn't been home since early in the morning made her lose hope.

Blake had asked her to calm down, but he had left without a word. It was enough to make Amora feel a little down. So she ventured to come to her aunt's house, at least she could get back to negotiating since they were family.

She had no money to pay them, so there was no other choice but to beg for mercy.

"Ah, there she is." Zuri pointed at Amora who had just returned home with Blake. "Where have you been? What took you so long?"Amora looked at Zuri who welcomed her back. But her gaze was drawn to a man sitting across from her mother. Seeing Amora's face full of question marks, Xavier got up from his chair confidently."I came here to help you.""You don't need any help at all."Blake's words instantly made Zuri and Xavier stare at him sharply. Zuri immediately approached angrily."Hey, shut that mouth of yours. He's not like you who runs away when people are in trouble.""At least, I can be useful to Amora." Xavier gave a sharp glance.Zuri nodded her head vigorously. "Yeah, it's a good thing that he's a really reliable guy."Zuri looked so happy to boast about Xavier. After Amora left earlier, Zuri immediately contacted the man and asked him to come here while telling them what had happened and asking for Xavier's help to solve the problem. "Look, he came straight here after mom t

Zuri and Xavier laughed, thinking it was a very funny joke. Of course, they were more inclined to believe that Blake had merely been there by chance when Liana and her family were confronted by the police, so it seemed as though Blake was the one who solved the problem."You're just a fraud," Xavier emphasized once again. "Don’t act like a hero just to get Amora’s attention.""Yeah, we all know what you're really like." Zuri raised one hand in the air, looking at Blake with a condescending gaze. "You have no power and will never do anything extraordinary."Zuri laughed again, now feeling a little relieved knowing that Xavier would help her keep Romeo and Jason in prison so no one could demand the house.Amarah let out a breath of frustration and looked at Blake. "Blake, are you really the one who got them imprisoned?""Yes," Blake answered firmly."What Blake said is true," Amora defended Blake in front of her mother."Hah, you're still defending this useless man, even though he didn'

"Mother, what's going on?" Amora frowned as Zuri suddenly grabbed her hand the moment they arrived home."Just follow me. Don't ask too many questions."Zuri firmly gripped her daughter's wrist, leading her somewhere. Amora remained silent, following her mother's steps."Now, hurry up and change into this." Zuri took out a dress from a large box. Before she could ask, Amora was pulled into the bathroom, and Zuri even closed the door behind her.Amora stared at the dress for a moment. An elegant black gown—but she couldn't help but wonder why her mother wanted her to wear it."Are you done yet?" Zuri called out from outside the bathroom."Just a second," Amora replied as she quickly put on the dress. She would ask about it later. When she stepped out of the bathroom wearing the gown, Zuri's face immediately lit up with delight."Wow, that dress looks absolutely perfect on you." Zuri twirled Amora around. "The size fits perfectly too."Amora remained silent, just as she did when Zuri pu

"Mother, this is not right! You're hurting me!"Amora winced in pain as the two men’s grip on her arms tightened. She had been struggling nonstop, trying to break free."I don’t care! What matters is that you accept Xavier’s proposal now." Zuri grabbed a bridal veil and placed it over Amora’s hair. "You are getting married to Xavier today.""No! This can’t happen!" Amora shook her head, desperately trying to remove the headpiece. "I will hate you for this, Mother.""I don’t care!" Zuri yelled directly in Amora’s face. "One day, you will understand that this is all for your own good."Amora couldn’t believe her mother could be this cruel. This was completely illegal! She shot a sharp glare at Xavier. "I hate you," she spat. "This is coercion. You should not be doing this!"Xavier simply raised an eyebrow, unfazed by her outburst. This was an agreement between him and Zuri—Amora’s opinion didn’t matter. The wedding would proceed no matter what.Amora frantically scanned the room, lookin

Xavier was bewildered as several men in black barged into the wedding venue, forcefully breaking down the door. But what puzzled him even more was that he didn’t recognize any of them. They weren’t his men.“Who are you?” Xavier lifted his chin arrogantly. “You dare to disrupt this wedding and even destroy the venue’s door?”The men didn’t answer. Instead, they stepped forward and positioned themselves behind Blake. Seeing this, Zuri immediately furrowed her brows.“Oh, so you hired some cheap thugs to ruin my daughter’s wedding?” Zuri scoffed, clicking her tongue as she glared at the four men standing behind Blake. “What did he promise you?”She sneered, wondering what kind of lies Blake had told them to make them follow him here. She was convinced that Blake didn’t have the money to pay them.“Listen, don’t be fooled by this fool.” Zuri placed one hand on her waist and pointed at them.“You’re making a mistake by siding with him because this man has absolutely no money. "Aw, slow down," Amora winced in pain as Blake applied ointment to her wrist."Sorry, just hold on a little longer," Blake said gently, carefully tending to her injury. He was paying close attention to Amora. The man treated Amora’s reddened wrist with great care—it had been gripped too tightly by Xavier’s men. There were even scratches on her arm from Zuri’s fingernails. With their close proximity, Amora could see Blake’s face clearly, and for the first time, she realized just how handsome her husband was."All done." Blake stroked Amora’s arm lightly after finishing the bandaging with a thin layer of gauze.Amora smiled. "Thank you." Now that it was treated, her hand no longer hurt as much when she moved it.Blake simply nodded before standing up to put the first aid kit away. At that moment, she noticed bruises and several cuts on the back of his arm.Amora recalled the fight earlier—Blake had been up against several men dressed in black. They had fought hand-to-hand, and at one po

"Dammit, how did it end up like this?" Xavier waved his hand in the air, cursing in frustration over his defeat. He never expected that Blake and his people could defeat him so quickly and effortlessly, especially when he had hired the best fighters available. Yet somehow, they still lost.Meanwhile, Zuri lowered her head in front of Xavier, fear creeping into her heart. She was afraid that Xavier would get angry and refuse to help her any longer. After all, he was the one supporting her, and he was powerful enough to do anything.Zuri couldn't afford to lose this opportunity. If she could become part of his family, her life would improve drastically. Among all the men who liked Amora, only Xavier had wealth far greater than the others."Blake, you’ve really made my life miserable," Zuri cursed Blake in her heart, blaming him over and over again. She had been so happy, convinced that their lives would no longer be filled with suffering once Amora married Xavier. Early in the morning, Amora was already awake and getting ready for work. After dressing in her work attire, she headed to the dining room for breakfast, but she immediately noticed that something felt different about the house.Zuri, who was usually loud and talkative, was unusually silent. At first, Amora didn’t think much of it and ignored it. But when their eyes met, Zuri shot her a glare and huffed in irritation.“Mom, please don’t create any more problems,” Amora broke the silence. “We’ve been through enough hardships already. Let’s not add more to it.”“What did I even do?” Zuri responded sharply, her voice rising.“I don’t want you getting involved with Xavier anymore. That man is manipulative and dangerous,” Amora finally admitted her dislike for Xavier.Hearing Amora insult Xavier—the very man Zuri considered her greatest ally—made Zuri bristle with anger. She turned to her daughter, her gaze sharp and unforgiving.“Who are you calling manipulative? Do you even realize who’s

One of them failed to shoot a wild rabbit they had been watching for a while."Forget it, let's find another one." They moved on, leaving their hiding spot. However, one of them—a man in a denim vest—looked uneasy, still thinking about what had happened earlier."What if something happens?" He muttered under his breath, mostly to himself, but loud enough for the others to hear. "Will Blake be okay?"Robby, who was loading more ammunition into his rifle, looked up with an annoyed expression. He clicked his tongue sharply before responding in a harsh tone."Why are you worrying about him? We should be focusing on our goal!" His voice was filled with impatience. The staff members were slightly taken aback by Zuri’s reaction, but they remained calm as they responded, "We were just following Mr. Blake’s instructions. The facility is highly exclusive, and there, Grandfather received more intensive care." Amora, who had just stepped out of the kitchen, overheard the conversation and looked confused. She walked closer and asked, "Mom, what are you talking about? Blake only wanted the best for Grandfather. This was all for his well-being." Zuri gazed at Amora with concern in her eyes. "I know, Amora. But why did this have to happen so suddenly? Why didn’t Blake inform us beforehand?" "Blake told me, Mom, and I agreed to it. I was the one who signed the transfer papers." "Amora! Think about it carefully! Why was your grandfather only moved now? Why not earlier? Something isn’t right—I feel like he's hiding something from us." "I want to move you to a VIP room. I should have done this from the beginning, but I didn’t want to draw attention—to you… or to us." There was a brief silence before his grandfather finally said, "I understand. But you know, Blake, I don’t mind staying in a regular room. I don’t need special treatment." Blake shook his head, even though his grandfather couldn’t see him. "This isn’t about comfort, Grandpa. It’s about safety. I can’t let anything happen to you just because I was being too cautious." Amora’s grandfather let out a quiet sigh. "You sound like someone preparing for battle." Blake chuckled. "Maybe I am. I just want to

A man clenched his fists tightly, looking irritated. "Not only did he steal my partner’s heart, but now he’s trying to get the Prince’s attention too."
