2. The Guardian God of Life and Death

Mal frowned. Again, he paused to think about Rossy's words. Also guess who someone his mother was talking about earlier.

"I don't think I know anyone who would wear a black robe or all black like that," Mal explained in between thoughts.

"Did you accidentally get to know someone? I thought maybe the game you played made your popularity increase."

Impossible. That's what Mal thought. Rossy's statement made no sense because Mal remembered very clearly who knew her. Even if his popularity increases, his true identity is not revealed because Mal chooses not to reveal it to the public.

On the other hand, Mal also knows that a special courier from a game development company should be delivering the packages.

"Maybe he is the game developer who gave it directly," Mal replied, seeming not to care.

"Ssshh..." Rossy hissed in thought. "Shouldn't he be visiting to chat for a bit? Why does he look so unfriendly?"

Mal can't answer Rossy's last question. Not wanting to get lost in the dizzying possibilities of abstraction, Mal just shrugged his shoulders. Not indifferent.

"I don't know, Mother. Just let it be. The most important thing is that the person doesn't interfere."

“But mom has an unpleasant feeling when see him...”

Mal fell silent again. In fact, he wanted to believe that Rossy might just be hallucinating. However, the worried and confused look on Rossy's face made Mal's faith waver.

"He didn't send a package containing things to harm you, did he?" asked Rossy suddenly, looking at Mal seriously.

"What, Mother? Don't ask things like that," said Mal, trying to brush off her worries.

Finally Rossy said nothing more. His gesture indicated that he wanted to peek at the contents of Mal's package. As soon as possible Mal avoided the package box from Rossy's sight.

"Enough, Mother. I want to take this to the room." Mal decided to hug her package box and take it away.

Rossy just watched Mal with worried eyes.

After reading the description of one of the greeting card letters, Mal was silent for a few moments. For some reason, Mal felt that the greeting card this time was a bit different compared to the greeting card in the previous game season.

'Why does it taste weird?' Mal thought. However, he decided he didn't want to think too much about this greeting card.

Mall shook his head. "They didn't send anything more useful," he muttered as he put the letter down casually.

Mal's eyes glanced lazily at the letter from the game developer. What did he just read? A world that needs his help? A world that offers a different sensation of adventure?

Mal laughed sarcastically, then took one of the drink bottles. Among all the gifts in the box, Mal is only interested in this energy-boosting drink.

"Will my energy multiply many times over?" Mall asked himself.

After watching for a few seconds, Mal chose to take a sip of this drink. Its small size makes the drink run out in a split second.

Mal took another sip of the bottle until it ran out. He breathed a sigh of relief after the drink from the two mini bottles was gone. Mal immediately lay down without caring about the location of the items scattered on his right side.

"Huh... I wish I could live a different life," Mal muttered as he looked up at the ceiling.

At that time, for some reason, Mal's head suddenly felt dizzy. Mal felt sleepiness so strong that suddenly her eyes were lethargic. It's like losing the energy to open your eyes, and the drowsiness is so strong that it forces your eyelids to close.

Mal blinks repeatedly. But the drowsiness did not go away. After a few seconds, Mal decided to close his eyes and let the tired weight in his body release.

'Why am I so depleted of energy today?' That was the only last thing Mal thought. Before finally Mal actually fell asleep.

Mal thought that he was now dreaming. Because when her eyelids opened very slowly, all she could see was a room with shades of blue mixed with black. A very strange room. The light shone very half-not bright, not too dark.

Head Mal felt very dizzy. But Mal still trying to get up from a supine position, sitting, trying to adapt to the light in the room. As soon as Mal started to see the whole room clearly, he felt like he was going crazy.

The right and left sides of the room he was in were now visible without end. But Mal could see the walls in front and behind like a cube that had a very neat grid of ceramic tiles. When Mal's gaze moved upwards, he was stunned to see that this room had no ceiling. The roof is open but black.

Have you ever imagined witnessing endless space? Such is the shape of the ceiling of this room.

Mall doesn't understand. The last time, he was in his room to open the award package box from the game developer Dissidia Epic Final Fantasy last season. Mal still remembers feeling bored and tired of his life and habits.

Now, where is he at?

Is Mal dreaming?

"Welcome, Mal."

Not having recovered his consciousness, someone's voice sounded and surprised Mal. Mal looked around, but there was no figure of anyone. Only himself was in this room.

Mal frowned. "Who is speaking?" he muttered.

"I do the talking," answered the unfamiliar voice. "You won't be able to see me, Mal. But let me tell you, I am the Lorda who guards the borders of the worlds of reality and death."

Hearing that, Mal felt even more surprised and almost laughed. Why is this person claiming to be a god?

"God?" asked Mal. "There are no gods in the real world. Why are you trying to lie to me?"

"I knew that you wouldn't believe what I was saying. Unfortunately, I am indeed Lord Lorda. The guardian of the boundary between the real world and death."

In a confused state, Mal's gaze wandered around. Mal confused what to say. Because it feels too real to be called a dream. But it couldn't be a dream if now he really could feel his body.

"Are you confused, Mal?" The voice, claiming to be Lord Lorda, asked. "I regret that in your life you never believed in my existence. But I do exist, here."
