They discovered a collection of glass that they believed belonged to the killer but in order not to jump into conclusion,they sent it to the Forensic unit for critical analysis and identification of the owner. Fortunately for the police,the forensic unit conveyed positive news to them. It didn't belong to the victim,so they concluded that it belongs to the killer.
